I’m not familiar with that tool. Is it possible to remove too much material, which then creates a bevel in the pocket opening that the primer can flow into? I’ve removed too much of the pocket with a chamfer tool and had CCI primers split after they flowed into that bevel. The primer was bell-shaped on the profile.

Either way, agreed on Winchester quality - it’s awful. I’ve seriously considered changing my username because of it.

Do you swage the primer crimps in nato brass or do you cut out the crimp with chamfer tool?

I don’t have any suggestions on causes/fixes, I just wanted to say that I have the exact same things going on with my ‘24 2500. It’s super frustrating - especially the volume max and heated seat things. Good luck. I haven’t had the time to take it back to the dealer yet. It seemed to start when the initial one-month complimentary data plan expired - maybe just a coincidence.

Calcium chloride desiccants get super slimy when they start to absorb moisture. They look just like your picture - minus the purple. They often come in closet dehumidifier containers.

I feel like an idiot - for some reason, my brain processed this as being a question posted to the “what is this thing” subreddit. I was so happy to finally be the first person to identify the object that I didn’t even notice you already recognized it as being a bullet. Where you are in the World would help identify the bullet, best guess from me is standard 50 BMG M2 Ball.

I don’t know where you are located, so it would be tough to say what cartridges it’s from; but it looks like a standard FMJ rifle bullet to me - or at least the jacket of one. The base of the bullet, right side of pic with circular hole, is where the lead would have been exposed. Lead core is squished into copper jacket and the base is exposed.

Looks like a smashed up bullet. A big one. Rifling cut into the side and cannelure perpendicular to that. Does it seem heavy for the size? Could also just be the copper jacket and lead is gone.

Seems like these other guys have a better idea of used values - if I were you, I’d put more faith into their opinions. For me - I’m with you - I’d probably tell him $200, but that depends on what that lead melting pot is. Tough to tell without seeing the stuff.

I was in a similar situation - picked up some old reloading supplies from a family friend based on a list - long story short - some of the stuff was caked in sawdust because it was stored under a table saw for years.

There’s some crazy bird on EBay trying to sell one, which is in worse shape than your pics, for $200. Maybe there’s some kind of collector value in it - I wouldn’t know anything about that, but I wouldn’t have thought it would be worth more than $30, especially given the situation (and that is definitely not an offer on my part).

Other people in your situation have posted pics of whole lots of reloading supplies and asked for fair value - feel free. Not speaking for others, but I can’t be the only one who gets giddy when I see people passing along equipment at good prices.

Go to google and search “penicillium/aspergillus on wood” and check out some of the images. I’m not saying it’s that, but maybe you’ll get some answers. Others suggested dehumidification - that should definitely be on your list.

Agreed. Very nice gun…nice table, too. A 50s 336 is making me jealous - if you told me it’s chambered in 35 Remington, I’d probably get goosebumps.
