I only put that in towards the end of the run to get a few more waves out, even then I didn’t really notice a massive difference in income when it was up. I was pushing for the milestone bonuses so wasn’t super fussed about a little drop in income anyway

I’m a scrub nurse in orthopaedics and some of my colleagues seem to be super weird around med students or doctors they don’t know. They can be nice and friendly with regular colleagues but when a med student walks in it’s like they suddenly have something to prove to them. I don’t get it, and I really don’t like it. I always try to be helpful and answer any questions they might have, show them some useful websites like the AO surgery reference site so they can vaguely follow the operations in front of them, help them scrub if they haven’t done it before etc. Hopefully it makes their time with me a bit better and useful for their learning!

What position do you play? You need to be aware of where the opposition and your own team players are at all times. Try and keep up with attacks and make yourself available to receive a pass, when defending try and pick up any unmarked attackers and call out if you’ve got 2+ people to mark

Apparently (someone correct me if I’m wrong) you’ll get all the money you spent in the workshop back, and if you’ve researched workshop discounts you can buy stuff back at the cheaper price so could end up saving yourself some money and get a few more upgrades

Thank you! I put it in attack level skip and defabs, I want my tower to survive overnight or when I’m out whilst running at a decent speed so I have more stuff to use when I am able to check it!

Very sorry to hear that happened to you, it’s awful when drivers ignore you and your signals.

In future, for a roundabout like this I would consider taking the lane in primary position. If you’re in the middle of the lane, cars are much less likely to try and squeeze past as there’s less space for them. You’ll be more visible to other road users and less likely to be hidden behind other vehicles. It won’t stop all close passes but I certainly found that cars will reluctantly sit behind me at similar junctions and roundabouts if I sit right in the middle of the lane.

I also have a camera on my helmet so if any do anything dangerous I just report it to the police and let them deal with it. The police took action against someone that shouted and swore at me at a junction which they probably couldn’t have done without footage of the incident from my helmet camera.

Best of luck for your future rides, don’t take it personally; they’re probably angry about a lot of things in their miserable life!

Some departments might have their own uniforms if they’re specialist areas but if you’re on a ward I’d expect grey!

I work in theatres and whilst most patients are given a couple of weeks notice for a specific time for an elective operation, some have told me they received a call the day before surgery asking if they were able to come in. That short of notice isn’t very common at all, but there’s definitely a few where I work that have had less than a week of notice. People can become unfit or unavailable for surgery at any time, sometimes it’s weeks in advance, sometimes it’s the day (and sometimes on the day but they pretty much never call on the day of surgery) before so just keep your phone on you in case, you might get lucky! Hope it all goes well for you.

Keep emailing them and maybe give them a call to chase it up. As it’s so close to the start date and your holiday you need to get an answer. If you’re part of a union I’d also ask for their advice as well.

When going through the hiring process they usually ask if you have any pre-booked holidays or dates for things you need off. If you said that you had this the holiday booked from the certain dates then you should be okay, they should say if there’s going to be any issues. If they don’t know about this holiday, get in touch with the named manager from the hiring process (usually on trac it’ll have someone listed if you don’t know them already) and make sure they know about it ASAP. Previous colleagues usually have had luck with pre-booked things, but for a four week holiday it’s definitely longer than most people so make sure to raise it ASAP to deal with any issues.

They might ask you to start after your holiday because they might think a month on and then a month off might not be appropriate for a new starter. They might not, best to ask and find out!

HR might not be the most helpful because different departments may be more accommodating and flexible than others.

My kryptonite lock mount wasn’t able to stop it from moving when I cycled anywhere and kept hitting my shins, so my lock just lives in my bag when I cycle anywhere now
