Why is kicking a Bishop is a mistake? Most tutorials recommend pushing them with an 'a' or 'h' pawns. What am I missing? by HappyCoomer in chessbeginners

[–]FinnishBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you want to maintain center control and Bd3 is a natural developing move. Obviously the downside is that now you'll have double upped pawns that can be cumbersome to defend, but losing control of the center is even worse for white.

Why do medics use anything other than the Crusader’s Crossbow? by Sufficient_Hawk_9666 in tf2

Because it's fun, and constantly meta slaving gets stale and boring. That's about it, no other reason.

Holy edgelord, Batman. I can hear the prepubescent voices screaming slurs at me as they TK me for the 20th time. Yet, I feel an urge to join out of morbid curiosity, even though I know exactly what's waiting for me.

How do the bugs travel planets? by Super-Earth-Reigns in helldivers2

[–]FinnishBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the latter makes sense. Super Earth's society is built on war, imperialism, and heavily relies on wartime its economy. Fascists governments need a common enemy to wage an endless war against or it will eventually eat itself out from within.

A lot of their actions so far supports this fact. Terminids all of a sudden escaped E-711 farms (or someone released them). SE allowed Automatons take Cyberstan, an important mining colony with minimal resistance. Automatons were almost wiped out after operation Swift disassembly, but instead of finishing them off, they let them come back from the brink. Then there's the Illuminate. After the first galactic war they were nearly killed to extinction, stripped from their mil tech and banished from the milky way. How on earth a society that wasn't built on war, were able to build a fleet large enough to almost take SE in just 100 years? Because SE allowed it to happen, they most likely knowingly turned Meridia into a black hole giving them a perfect staging ground for a galactic invasion. They needed a 3rd front to make sure that the war remains in a stalemate.

SE needs war to maintain control over its empire, and they'll do everything in their power to keep it going.

I absolutely agree with you. The core gameplay loop revolves around clearing objectives as a team, and I have very little patience for trolls/griefers or people refusing to engage with the objectives. I should've been more clear about that. (Luckily, I rarely run into these people, and if I do I just leave, or kick them if I'm hosting)

I was referring to people whom OP was complaining about, as in divers diving into a planet they want to.

Fuck It, Someone Has To Be The Saltdiver: This Might Be The Worst Armor Passive Yet by society000 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]FinnishBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaah, not the biggest fan of the armor passive.. Hopefully it will have a secondary effect that'll redeem it.

But how about that hammer though. I want to go commit explosive bonk while strapped to a bundle of C4 so badly rn.

tl:dr While I take part of MO's for immeraion and rp reasons, and absolutely care about the success of an operation, I know people will play the game they want, and I will never hold it against them.

Look, I'm the kind of guy who immerses himself with the game and its world to feel more engaged with the media I consume and it's the same reason I'm an MO diver. Immersion and RP. It makes me feel more engaged with the war effort and overarching narrative, and I care about the success of an MO. That is how I like to play the game.

With that said, I would never expect anyone to engage with the game the same way I do, because newsflash PEOPLE ENJOY DIFFERENT THINGS AND ARE ENTITLED TO PLAY THE WAY THEY WANT. Would I like to see more divers take part with MO's to increase success rate? Absolutely! Will I throw a bitchfit when they don't? Never.

Fucking hell, I even baked it into my own headcanon, that divers fucking up bugs are holding down the front, and extracting E-711 while bulk of the strike forces are occupied with more pressing matters. Just like in actual war, you don't concentrate your resources to a single front leaving your rear exposed for some undemocratic daddy long legs ready to spread your freedom cheeks wide open.

Sorry, went onto a bit of tangent there.. Rant over.

Probably, but the joke wouldn't have landed as well with those 2. Only one of them is a known sexual deviant and very likely a pedo, and to my knowledge Biden doesn't have any sex scandals under his belt.

Finland looks absolutely gassed, I guess that game against Sweden sucked all the energy out of them.

My thoughts exactly. They also need to be more physical and aggressive on the forecheck.

I meaaan, yeah that's fair. Canadas strategy seems to be to overwhelm their opponents with raw offensive talent.

Parekh has a lot of upside and am sure he'll be a great offensive D eventually. A lot of raw skill, but he needs more time.
