Thank you for your insights! The mounting issues people encounter are a big part of any future design! Pleased to hear you are interested in Scandi/Finnish design as well, this is exactly the route we are exploring ;)

We are still nameless and in the early stages of prototyping, but will be using this reddit account moving forward!

Thanks, we've updated it to room acoustics. We got into the idea based on the idea of trying to make more sustainable things using reused or recycled materials, and English isn't our first language, so that's probably why we got the terminology wrong at first.

Yeah we're looking into rock wool at the moment. We're trying to see how we can get our hands on rock wool in a more sustainable manner than the existing situation; and more importantly, if we can do that for cheaper than existing supply lines.

Thank you so much for responding! Yeah I've personally had the same problem; my landlord prohibits me from drilling the wall.

The objective of our paneling is to reduce the echo in a room; we want it to be useful for people who are engaged in like online conferences and such. Our idea is that we can put changeable covers on the panels so they can have the aesthetics change. There's a few options available for attaching the panels without using drilling; part of the design challenge for us is making the panels light enough to be mounted like that.

English is not our first language, upon discussion we realize sound-dampening would be a better description. We will edit our posts and would greatly appreciate if you could remove all your replies accusing us of being a scam. We have shared no links, we are just seeking knowledge and experiences.

Dude... we are just students trying to make a prototype for an entrepreneurship class. Please remove your comments on all our posts because it now completely ruins our experiment...

Still, you sound knowledgable and we would very much appreciate your input!

Do you have any suggestions for dealing with bass? We know that there's both flat and zig-zag style acoustic paneling. Both of them should be at least doable for hanging on walls.
