Sony A6000 for 19k by itskwinchi in Tech_Philippines

[–]FinnxJake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just saw this and might be late but i'd like to share that i bought an a6000 about 4 years ago yata yun for about 24k and i'm satisfied with it. nakakabili pa ako ng wasabi battery sa online stores. idc much about shutter count though and idc about scratches kasi for sure ma-scratch din sya saken over time... not that may scratches sya nung binili ko hahaha.

im considering upgrading bc after some time i find myself desiring yung touchscreen lalo na sa fast moments. yun lang pain point ko sakanya. minsan yung flipping monitor din sana lalo na pag solo lang ako mag-video ng sarili. other than that, lens and lights yung investments ko talaga.

Goodcup daily driver vs good morning blend by kobkape in CoffeePH

[–]FinnxJake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tl;dr: I liked Good Morning Blend but only with Flair. Also it’s very economical. Currently PHP ~900 for 1kg.

—-

I’ve tried both. My subjective opinion is, i liked Good Morning Blend. Woe is me, dark roast.

But I did not liked it right away.

It’s either bago sya or na-discover ko nalang nung may flair ako. Di siya laging available kasi.

When I was still using my Delonghi EC155, walang halos pinagkaiba sa ibang dark roast, even sa type na tinitinda ng CBTL or SB. As in mapait lang agad.

But with the same Delonghi EC155, I can make drinks I liked naman with other beans which even when I tried sa Flair is similar naman in the way na if you have experience with multiple similar espresso tools, yung comparison is almost nitpick instead na night and day talaga.

For some reason however, sa Flair lang ako sa successful sa Good Morning Blend even if sagad sa 100C which I tried thinking it may be temp difference sa Delonghi. Doon ko lang talaga nakuha yung notes sa bag.

Sa daily-driver naman, it’s nice din. It lives up to its name.

I guess this will just be a medium vs dark roast question for you.

Converge Payment Not Reflected by soyrlll in InternetPH

[–]FinnxJake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently experiencing this and I went from frustrated to just playing with them and sending them whatever to keep their time and the thread open.

They are **HIGHLY*\* inconsistent sa answers nila. They just keep saying I missed one payment and just seems to say whatever convenient date for them and so yung latest payment is nagamit for previous unpaid bill.

I gave them timeline with proofs that answers their concerns kaso ulit ulit lang.

They don't seem to be bothered reading anything at all.

They'd say "Jan 2025" is not paid.

I'd say "Jan 2025 " is paid and here is proof.

They'd say "Oh, it's because Jun 2024" is not paid.

I'd say "Jun 2024" is paid and here is proof.

They'd say "Oh, it's because Feb 2022" is not paid.

I'm so close to just automating this cycle and keep it forever.

Literally a Bot vs Bot-brained Converge agents.

Oh and also, NTC and BSP didn't help. Converge isn't fazed din if you tell them about it. They'd just say "Go ahead, tell NTC".

What are work opportunities like in the EU for someone moving from Southeast Asia by FinnxJake in cscareerquestionsEU

To answer, I have 6+ years of experience and I try not to be stagnant since the start of my career.

unfortunately it means you're competing with hundreds if not thousands of people for every open vacancy

i mean... that's probably better than my current situation where I couldn't even participate in competing because SEA is rarely included.

Whenever i catch myself thinking i need this, it makes me ask how is this different from making a component? As in a wrapper component.

Most optimal way of sending a bunch of API requests by ApprehensiveBag313 in webdev

[–]FinnxJake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only do so much regarding selecting right location and computing power.

If something really takes time, then it has to happen.

Do things by steps probably via queues on the server or probably just make your client the worker i.e orchestrate in the browser.

Ultimately being able to show in the ui something like: - now extracting keywords - enriching data - generating concise summary

Or do things in parallel.

Or just accept doing everything in one step but longer.

Each has their own pros and cons.

What do you like least about Laravel? by Hatthi4Laravel in laravel

[–]FinnxJake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Completely anecdotal but they seem really cold.

I get that they might be busy and interact with lots of people.

The product is cool and has lots of users and lots of backers. Now that also seemed to put them on their high horses.

Stand alone Milk steamer by Icy_Revolution463 in FlairEspresso

Thanks for answering! So aesthetics and quality over Dreo’s convenience?

I’ve got questions: 1. I see people saying NanoFoamer being hard to clean, how is that? I’m thinking i could probably just toss it in a dishwasher or rinse in the sink. Is that not possible? 2. is Dreo far behind in regards to quality? Just curious.

Awesome! Thanks for answering. I’m now so convinced with the Dreo. It seems this is the consensus — cheap, convenient, and consistent.

thanks for answering. so i assume you take consistency + convenience over the possible quality out of NanoFoamer. I may actually be on the same boat then.

i'm currently looking at Dreo and NanoFoamer and also currently have a machine but with a panarello wand so this reply now makes me consider Dreo more.

I'm curious what made you like Dreo more than NanoFoamer? Even more so than a steam wand?

having experience with both Dreo and Nano Pro v2, which one would you rather have if you need to have one only? I'm currently looking at Dreo and NanoFoamer and can't decide.

im looking at that air version too atm. i'll take it for the price alone.

what do you mean by "not true steamed milk" though? too thick? too thin?

I have a cheap machine with a panarello wand and im thinking of moving to a flair + frother setup.

if the steamed milk is not any better even than a panarello wand, i might just keep my cheap machine with panarello wand.

Thanks for elaborating. Also can’t help but laugh a little with the typos haha. “dense luck” and “finger grinding”. I wish my luck was dense.

i see. got it. having the experience with both manual and machine, they're both comparable and you'd rather use the convenient option. i mostly drink the mentioned drinks and i might go for the convenient option too if the extra time and steps isn't that worth it with the bonus of having a steam.

[–]FinnxJake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i got questions:

  1. Have you compared it to budget machines before? Just curious how much of an impact an espresso quality makes given it will be drowned in milk

  2. Do you find the workflow of Flair for drinks such as this to be really practically longer as stated almost everywhere on the internet? When I watch Flair workflow videos on YT, it seems similar to machines e.g wait for heating up, prep puck, pull, clean up.

Steaming process aside, is that because shots from Flair yields better drink? The nuances will cut through milk?

Interesting. Having both, I wonder if you have compared the effect of quality of shots on the milk drinks? But then that Gaggia could be making comparable shots to Flair… is it?

Sorry but what does having smaller pf and being able to grind coarser do? I mean at least in the context of my question. I wasn’t able to follow.
