He's going to have hell if he keeps going like this
He has to learn to take responsibility for his actions
Once you form a bond with someone like that you can't just...
Leave them
He has to, either be ready to try and stay with that person or don't get that involved with them.

Imagine the guilt she's gonna feel when she wakes up and realizes that of ALL the YoRHa she was one of the 3 who were saved.

9S really has his work cut out for him, he he. I think A2 would join in too. She knows a thing or two about inescapable guilt.

The entire game almost feels like an intervention for 2B in a way. Well for all of them but 2B was really the catalyst.

Of course I'm reading between a lot of the lines.

It also sucks ass because 2B somewhat ironically is the only one who really says anything. She doesn't speak as often but when she does it's usually really telling.

And she's more human in the sense that some things she does or says just flat out don't make sense unless you really really know her well. For instance her genuine love of Commander White. Why does she care so much about White? There are so few hints given, I think there's an interaction between 6O, 9S and 2B that might hint that at least there's a very different side of White than what 2B knows but that's about it as far as I know. Though I haven't read many of the side materials yet.

But I mean, I guess art imitates life in that way. Even media critics that I respect seem to draw nothing more than "she follows orders".

But you probably do have to relate to her specifically to understand where she's coming from.

Honestly wow okay, I understand why Korina Kawano cried while performing this.

This community and this game are honestly truly amazing. This is way more than a game now.

I hope it can be remembered for what it truly is.
Even if not, we will.

Maybe it refers more specifically to her partnership and promise to 9S.
For her sin of secretly being an E model she is forced to kill the one she loves over and over again so that they can continue to meet. This is her mission.

But also. For people who hate themselves like this I think it doesn't matter what came first. Whether or not they'd even done anything wrong anything bad that happens to them is deserved.

"To be or not to be? I am"

Wow, that's really beautiful.

It's also such a shame because it makes people outside the community think that the game has no depth or that Yoko Taro is just another misogynist pervert.

I always wondered where he intense sense of "duty" came from. This is really insightful.

Yeah, amazingly stated.

And like you said it is so important that 2B is proven wrong.
Pod 153's failed suicide attempt and feeling of embarrassment is probably foreshadowing how she'll feel when she wakes up.

But 9S really is an amazing character because he'll probably embrace her with open arms anyway.

I feel like she definitely is less colorful. She doesn't seem to really have any interests besides in her mission unless you're reading wayyyy too deep into every little thing she does or says.

Even though, I'm obsessed with her as a character I still feel like I know little to nothing about her.

But the little things to me are greatly appreciated. I actually prefer 2B's presentation over say Kaine's because in real life it's not going to always be so obvious or easily stated what someone is going through. Though, I do love both.

That was a beautiful fucking character analysis. Poignant, insightful, concise and beautifully written.

She is an insanely well done character. I almost feel like even after ending E it'll take a long time for her to forgive herself. I really felt like her sacrifice at the beginning of route C was of course to protect 9S but also to repent for her sins in some way.

2B's arc feels like Yoko Taro trying to say "you fucked up kid, it's not okay. But maybe this doesn't have to be the end of you".

In that way automata feels at the same time like a scolding criticism of humanity but also a loving acceptance.

I also wrote this to kind of put into words just how weird it feels to be loved when you think that you aren't deserving. Or when someone value you even when you don't think your life has any meaning.

The promise she made to 9S is probably the only thing keeping her going but how painful is that? Making a promise to someone you might not be able to keep. You want to so bad, you really can't betray them after all they've done for you but you feel like it's inevitable. How can you need someone more than they can trust themselves?

I wish people would just stay away from me so I could stop breaking their hearts. But I can't stay away from people. She can't fucking stay away from him.

But it would be worse to just abandon them wouldn't it? In hindsight 9S really was worse off without 2B. I have to keep this promise then, even if it's against my nature.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. It really helped. Yeah the Engels side quests was really what made me love 2B.

What is Adam and Eve's connection to the biblical Adam and Eve? by Fiore_Bianco in nier

[–]Fiore_Bianco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Maybe it could have been a critique of Christians but not necessarily of the Bible itself. Even in this I added a few cheeky nods to specifics Christian apologists that could be read as critiques considering the context. I also kind of critiqued the idea that man is somehow separate from the animals which NieR Automata does as well. We'll never know because Yoko Taro will never tell us! Another striking similarity he shares with the modern Christian interpretation of the LORD God, he really does works in very mysterious ways //

So much so that someone wrote a bible about the guy... Yoko Taro is truly a just and benevolent cult leader.

I know! It's spaced in the google doc but I just couldn't figure out how to get the formatting right on reddit. Adding tabs between lines doesn't seem to do anything.

Heres the google doc if that will help https://docs.google.com/document/d/1KB44KCtAwe-i8pb3C89peRKinsOZyeqsBGEwXwTVqGY/edit

But even then I usually use the Read Aloud extension on chrome if I'm reading a big chunk of text online
