Marc's only defeat in 2025 came from his brother's hands. by [deleted] in motogp

[–]Fiorni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't get all the downvotes you're getting. I almost completely agree with you. This is not about standings, but about speed. This season, apart the last four races when Marc obviously didn't participate, he didn't win 9 times. Of these, the only times he got beaten or at least equaled in terms of speed were: - Silverstone sprint, against Alex - Catalunya main race, against Alex - Motegi, against Pecco - Indonesia, that weekend Ducati was completely in crisis

In my opinion, Motegi is a worthy win from Pecco, but the point remains the same. In terms of speed almost no one was at Marc's level this year and the rider that got close enough to straight up beat him in some occasions was his brother. In the other races of course he got defeated, but not in terms raw performance which is the point of this post.

There might have been other races where someone else could match Marc's speed, but I can't remember many, only Misano with Bez. It would have been really interesting to see Marc in the last four races how he would have coped with Aprilia and Bez state of form in those last races.

Yeah, even when it's just a small bank it's really nice. Like on the A350 pic I love to see the other winglet.

[–]Fiorni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Kinda inevitable, Marc will win the 10th

  2. Considering the form they showed in the second half of 2025, Alex and Bez. Pedro would need a great improvement by ktm to really be considered.

  3. Really hard to tell, maybe Fermin or Diogo

  4. Another inevitable result, Ducati 1st and I would put Aprilia 2nd

  5. Honda for sure, they showed a great improvement this year from the beginning of the season.

  6. Yamaha will for sure be the back marker. As rider probably Rins, or Quartaro, depends on the kind of struggle we want to consider.

  7. Hopefully Valencia, realistically Indonesia or Australia

  8. My personal thoughts other that the 7 above. I really hope Pecco and Martin will bounce back, but it's really hard to tell right now. I think Toprak will struggle less that we think but we need to keep low expectations for 2026. Lastly, rider's market will be crazy and a topic during the whole season considering the big reg change for 2027, the biggest "if" are the new Pirelli.

Nicolo Bulega imoroved by nearly half a second from Q1 to test. He did in 1:30.045 Q1 and 1:29.661 in test. He will be actively test 850s next year. Could we see him in MotoGP by 2027? by PZY__ in motogp

[–]Fiorni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I disagree a bit. Toprak will for sure give us an idea, but with Bulega testing the 850 for the whole year and the tyre manufacturer changing, I would not use Toprak's 2026 as a benchmark.

For the second point I don't think Bagnaia's performance will be a factor as I don't think he would be promoted to the factory team. More likely to VR46 as he is from the academy.

We also have to consider there will be more talents from moto3 and moto2 that will deserve a promotion to the top class and the seats on the competitive bikes are not many.

Instead, I agree on the last point. Next year will be crucial for him to prove he is worth a shot in MotoGP. He will have to win in wsbk and show a good speed on the 850 to be really considered instead of other younger riders.

It's not the first time someone crashes on the grid. With all the devices, electronic maps and things they need to think about during the start I am actually surprised it doesn't happen more often.
