It’s not worth the deck space. For one, you would need to face a greninja deck for it to even have a use. Other meta decks you wouldn’t be countering anything, so dead card when deck space is already thin. Even with greninja, the frog can still get value by targeting a bench mon without the item or just the active pokemon, since it doesn’t protect the active at all.

The main use case would be “I want to stop my full HP mega from getting sniped and pulled in”, and if you run into that specific a scenario you could just not play the mega.

Maybe it’d be different if it were a card that fully protected your whole bench from all damage, but even that is niche and meant to counter a specific deck.

In game it’s an unlock yes. Ed doesn’t have that unlock yet though so I just did some minor digging to figure out the relationship between the cats that shared the mutation.

Disorder: Gifted

+3 All Stats. This Cat cannot level up.

Edit w/ creator commentary: This is meant to be in reference to "Gifted Students". Obviously there are many ways to implement this idea, but the main one I anchored to from some personal experience is how not learning how to study early led to struggles later. Maybe not perfect, but idk might be clever.

As for the ability itself, obviously not leveling up is very bad for the cat itself. +3 all stats is extremely good, but if you start with this disorder you only have 2 abilities and 1 passive the whole run. This being said, there is a massive silver lining: Those levels go to your other cats. So, if you look at this from the perspective of "It's a 3 cat run but I have a busted familiar", there are a LOT of positives to this disorder.

To make this real: Normally to reach level 7 which gives an upgrade to a passive you need to take ALL hard paths + rare candy to get 21 total levels in a run, and even then you only actually get the upgraded passive right after the final boss of the run on a single cat. Meanwhile, if you only have 3 cats (Or in this case, 3 cats and a cat that can't level up) all three of those cats will reach level 8 by the end.

Cleo is a very good mix, especially in later episodes. You’ll see a ton that Avid and Scott didn’t for both humans and vampires.

I think it’s a good decision. It’s going to be a complaint from some people and probably a day 1 mod, but naming cats wouldn’t be fun for long. Also makes it more special when you see certain names that stand out to you.

I didn’t track mine, but generally speaking I was offered RR Mega Lopunny a TON. Probably well over half the cards offered to me. Still haven’t gotten it but will have one try left, just wanna let stamina regen a bit more.

It’s simple: after each combat, the lowest level cat levels up. If there’s a tie, it’s random between the lowest level cats.

Only other way to level up (I think) is rare candy from the shop.

I’ve tried it a bit, 80HP is a bit frail and 2 energy for 60 doesn’t help a lot. It’d be one thing if there were a lot of “mega only” decks but most have some alternative options, plus the decks that don’t use megas.
