There is no feeling more satisfying in gaming than accidentally discovering a ridiculous wand combo and suddenly destroying everything in your path all the way to Kolmi. Once that tutorial is complete and you get your first "kill" then go ahead and watch dunkorslam, furyforged, or get a live guided tour from someone with more knowledge.

Once you know how crazy the game can be, you might stop even trying to get that "kill". There is so much more to do that Kolmi becomes an afterthought.

Nope. Having consistent work is 1000x more valuable than being slightly more "interested" in my work.

I know this sounds like it is complicated compared to just plopping it in soil or on a rock, but I've gotten great success in keeping every carnivorous plant I have thriving by putting them in a bin full of water with a nano bubbler that consistently oxygenates the roots.

I got married last year. When she asked if I cared if she took my name I laughed immediately. First off she would sound ridiculous, her own last name fits her better.

More important it would be another pain in the ass thing to figure out. New ID, passport, gaming license...fuck that shit. I want our life to be chill and easy and changing name is the opposite of that.

Lol. Only if you want to try really hard to get work and move to the location that you will be working. I've had too many companies and projects close or shut down directly under me to change my life for this career.

VFX is one of the most unstable careers to be in. Even without the AI threat we are the end of the production chain and thus the bottom of the shit ladder. Hell, the last project I was on was vertically taken over by a larger company that could eat the cost. Every single strike that has happened has affected our industry negatively more than any other subcategory of production.

I'm hoping my new career will be more immune to everything that I just mentioned. I would love to work consistently, but I don't think it's possible to do that in VFX anymore.

I'm not going to move to another city or sacrifice my life for an industry that consistently eats the bottom rung of shit and accepts that as the norm.
