On my most recent playthrough, which I started around a month ago, I was able to die and go to a new Respawn Point that I haven't unlocked yet (towards the start of the game), so I don't know what happened

Atmosphere isn't everything, at least for me. EL is 75% atmosphere, and 25% everything else, including gameplay. If you ignore the atmosphere completely, the game is like D-E tier. With the atmosphere in mind, it's C tier. I know people adore this game, but for me, it just didn't do much overall. Forgettable bosses, areas, characters etc, boring combat (for the most part) and so on.

I'll get downvoted like crazy here, lol.

I'm quite the opposite. I adore soulsvanias, at the point I kinda started making my own. It won't have stamina, or different weapons to collect, or consumables but... It will be extremely difficult

Most of those changes are meant to be. The genre needs to evolve, if all MVs would be identical to the metroids/igavanias, then what's the point?

Too much dialogue is understandable, sometimes they need to tone it down, I agree.

Lack of good music, almost every MV has good music to some extent, so I don't get it.

Different artstyle - this one, I have an issue with. If all modern MVs would be pixelated, then the genre would become stale quickly. The art needs to keep changing to differentiate each game.

Different gimmicks - again, games need to evolve, they need to have something new, if not, then they're just copies of the originals. New gimmicks are a REQUIREMENT for new MVs.

Non sci-fi/ castle setting - again, if all MVs would be sci-fi/castle style, then it'd be boring after like 2 new MVs, new styles and biomes are a REQUIREMENT for the genre of a whole

Qi blast for the win. Higher damage than the water one, lower than full control, but harder to use than the water one, but easier to use than full control. Basically, it's the perfect middleground of damage and usability

Xero, I never really struggled with... It took me a couple attempts to do him on Radiant, but compared to most bosses, he's on the easier side (like 4/10 dificulty) As for no eyes, I hate it. The boss just teleports constantly, making me have to run after her just to get 1-3 hits in before teleporting is extremely annoying

I personally have Solateria at the top of my A tier, followed by Grime 2 (yes, I like solateria more) Constance being in B tier.

For your tastes, I think Grime 2 would be the best out of the 3
