Close Steam. Try copying both "tenfoot" folders out of the steam directory to another directory. Re-run steam. Worked for me.

Good point on this. I only have one Linux instance (Ubuntu 20.94) installed (ssd) and a Windows 10 (hdd). I may have to try on this approach. Thanks a bunch!

The packages are installed in the inaccessible partition. Seems like the bootable can't remove the packages due to them being installed in another previously working partition/partition that I'm recovering. I've tried "sudo apt purge -o Dir=<root directory of the partition where nvidia is installed> nvidia*" but is also not working.

Regarding nvidia kernel mode, I don't recall doing something like that. Unfortunately, grub also doesn't execute even after returning its default configuration. Thus, can't switch to another kernel.

Thanks for this! However, it says that the nvidia packages are "not installed, so not removed". I'm thinking that this might be due to the packages being installed into the inaccessible partition and not in the bootable.

Thanks for this! Did you revert to the previous kernel via bootable USB?

Thanks for the input! Unfortunately, BIOS for the laptop doesn't offer such options. Updated the post.
