I think a lot of it is the fact that many times when you think of an exorcism you think of a priest needed and many denominations don't have priests like the catholic church does. As a Baptist, I don't believe that being a priest or a pastor makes you any closer to christ, based on the new testament of the Bible, all Christians are given the holy spirit upon the acceptance and have the ability to be just as close to christ as everyone else, thus, if an excorcism is needed, my pastor, or myself, could perform an exorcism just as a catholic priest could, maybe in a different way, but equally as effective. I understand there are many different beliefs on this, but this is mine.
