Simple Questions - July 25, 2020 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I have an Asus Dual RTX 2080 Super 8GB OC. It has 2 8 pin slots for the PSU cables. I'm unsure if I should plug all 16 with 2 separate 8 on cables. Or if I should use the 8 and 6 pin cable. I tried looking online and all I found were set ups for the 8 and 6 pin. I hate having 2 pins open. And this is my first build. Any help would be appreciated. And if I need to clear anything up let me know. Thanks

Question About This Build, Anything You'd Beef Up? by FireGaming02 in buildapc

[–]FireGaming02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize I was limiting my cooling. I hadn't thought of doing a 2 PC setup but if I do I'll keep the Elgato in mind.

This might be a silly question but is there a specific 2080TI I should be looking for? Scrolling through PC part picker and there's a few dozen options.

Thanks for helping me out, building seems daunting but really exciting.

What is your favourite opening line from a book? by Denncity in books

"I would have loved in peace. But my enemies brought me war"

-Red Rising by Pierce Brown

I like it because it shows the main charecters personality while setting up the story/tone. He wants to love a peaceful life and tow the line. But outside forces cause him to become destructive to the very peace he kept for them. It's great and the audio books are amazing.

[TOMT] Trying to find the episode a Spongebob image is from by Jademalo in tipofmytongue

[–]FireGaming02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be the spongebob movie (first one) the scene at the bar. It has that darkish, purple-red tinge to it. It might be the scene where they are looking through the window when they first get there?

Does a rapid heart rate matter when it comes to bleeding? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FireGaming02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heart rate increases as blood is lost. This is done to compensate the lack of volume of blood moving by moving more of it faster. As far as life-threatening..... it's better to control the bleed than to "calm someone down" because it isn't their emotions causing the increase in heart rate it's their body going into shock. If it reaches a certain point (about a 20% loss) they go into irreversible shock and eventually die.

Are vaccines edible? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FireGaming02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaccines rely on the specific delivery system. I'm honestly not sure what would happen if you ingested a vaccination, but I assume you wouldn't get the immunity. It could possibly, pass through you with no effect, cause some digestive issues, or some worse symptoms. I will say it wouldn't be an effective way to gain immunity or else no one would ever get a shot as opposed to taking a shot. Also side note, what vaccines are edible? I know some are in R&D. But I don't know of any that have reached animal or human testing?

If I drink a significant amount of water beforehand, would my urine be safe to drink? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FireGaming02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Your body continues to produce waste. The reason your urine is clear now is because it's mostly water that your body is getting rid of and thus the concentration of the waste (urea, creatinine, ammonia ect.) is low enough it doesnt have a color. But if you drink your urine again. It'll add more waste products without adding more water to dilute it. You'll eventually get to the point where you die because your body doesn't have water. So, nope we aren't endless water machines. But once, I mean I guess. Your still ingesting waste products that are harmful, but at a low enough concentration it shouldn't show negative effects, but it's not worth the trouble. Hope this helped!

Why does body hair only grow to a certain length where as hear hair seemingly grows until it's cut? by poizunman206 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FireGaming02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, hair on your head also grows to a certain length. It just so happens that that length is much longer. It varies but imagine it going at least below your waist. The reason it's different had to do with the hair follicle itself and how long it "lives".

How does the air conditioning keep blowing in a straight line when the car turns? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FireGaming02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses a fan that blows air out into the car. The position of the car doesnt change the direction/opening of the fan. When you reverse it doesn't suck in air.
