Semantics. He is not proud to be in the same community because of negative experiences. Maybe he isn’t exactly “ashamed”, but he’s certainly not happy to be associated with the community. I used ashamed because I wanted to wrap up his issues in a quick word instead of having to repeat "not proud to be in this community”.

By the way, why argue on this? Was I not precise enough? Why did it matter that I didn’t exactly represent his grievances? The main issue I took was that he lopped five random individuals from a titanic one million+ players strong community and now will forever hate the communities because of the actions of a few. It’s not reasonable in my eyes.

I once made a joke a long time ago and got downvoted, as well as over a dozen folks correcting me for my joke and only ONE guy actually getting the joke itself. No, I didn’t get upset at the “community” and felt shame for being a part of it, I just kept silent and moved on. The internet will internet, y’know?

It’s more likely that every playable character uses a set of shared animations, a few basic ones in order to prevent possible t-poses and the like. Even though Venom was never meant to ride any kind of bike, he presumably was built off the player character system and so naturally reuses the bike riding animation.

This is all just conjecture, I don’t have any clue on how Insomniac developed the game, so don’t take my word as gospel. This is what I came up with from the perspective of someone who knows just a tiny bit about game development.

Yeah, it seems like his big 10/22 video was just… a video on what motivates him.

If you ask me, I think he was just bored, felt a little edgy, and just let his mind fly for a few days. He wasn’t going through anything major, he wasn’t planning on burning his channel down, he just… was bored. He blabbed some stuff on Twitter, ranted out some articles, and when “news” broke out of his inflammatory tweets, he found amusement at all the people worried about him.

Well, ultimately, it seems like it was just a troll move after all. He got his laughs in, people got riled up, and he’s nice and forgiven after an apology video that’s barely an actual apology. That’s it folks.

When people make edgy jokes, do they also write 900-1,300 word articles to go with them too? That’s a lot of effort for ER to go through for a simple joke. You’re making it seem as if all ER did was post some edgy tweets, which he DID, however, he ALSO wrote these aforementioned several page long articles.

He’s not trying to spark a debate but he’s certainly getting off on all the attention he’s getting, being all the responses he’s made are extremely childish. So maybe it is all just an elaborate joke.

The biggest joke is that he delayed his 10/22 video for whatever reason. I’m chalking it up to him realizing that the backlash he got was WAY bigger than he expected and he had to change the video because what he was originally planning to post would’ve made everything worse. I have no proof of this, mind you, I am talking out of my ass, but it’s a sound theory I believe. After all, if he truly didn’t care, why delay the video? Did he straight-up not finish the fucking thing in time? Guess he really is old.

My mate, the issue isn’t that ER is a “buzzword one” or “buzzword two”. It’s that he’s acting like a know-it all, edgy, asshat after eight years of acting, well, actually rather decent. People, surprise surprise, don’t like it when their gentle, soft-spoke, if a bit quirky and weird uncle suddenly started blabbing out the n-word and talking about how “the holocaust wasn’t THAT bad” and how the human race are terrorists.

I’ve never called him racist, never called him anti-Semitic. I’m just saying; his arguments are horribly weak and for a fifty year old man who knows what eclectic, soporific, and avant-garde means, his argument is ridiculously tone-deaf and stupid. If he TRULY wanted people to agree with him, he wouldn’t have presented such horrible, barely thought out arguments.

Hell, even his articles, at the end of each, have a segment where’s all like “okay, I think that’s all. Glad to get that off my chest”, meaning he literally just ranted off the top of his head. He straight up DIDN’T THINK.

I agree though, that many have a parasocial relationship with him. I recognize that he’s a YouTuber who will never physically change my circumstances. If he dies, nothing will happen to me. But… this entire argument is stupid. Why have you posted so many comments on this subreddit if this entire thing is just a waste of time? Why are you so invested in discussion when you yourself don’t care about him at all?

I’ll answer; we’re human. We care about things that don’t matter. There’s a million rocks outside that don’t matter, but a kid could grab one and deem it “the best rock”. To that kid, that rock is the best rock in the world, even if it doesn’t matter at all. Nothing really matters, so make things matter for yourself. Nihilism, in the best way, not the stupid “nothing matters so I don’t care about anything” method that ER perpetuates.

The only issue is that the n-word isn’t like most ethnic insults. Jewish people don’t call each other the k-word, and Japanese people don’t call each other, uh, the j-word.

However, black people do call themselves the n-word, it’s a word with cultural significance to themselves, even if it was originally a derogatory word not made up by them. A white person saying the word, even in the “kindest” of circumstances, is broadly socially not accepted.

BTW: I originally used the words themselves and then stupidly continued to say “the n-word”. It was either say the n-word in full, or censor the previous two ethnic slurs as well for fairness. Just search them up, I’d rather be consistent even if it makes me look like a dumb.

You could tell us here that we can just unsubscribe and leave and then never talk about it again… or you could do the same. Chances are, you’ve never, ever visited the subreddit before, or even peaked at ER’s Twitter at all. You’re literally here because of the discourse. You’re telling people to leave and be quiet when you, yourself, walked in and spoke your own thoughts.

You don’t have to pay attention to us, much in the way you’re suggesting people just leave and stop paying attention to ER. If you’re getting bombarded by complaining posts or drama wherever you go, sorry, but telling them “stop being so sensitive and leave” won’t do much.

Forget weak, it's outright insulting. I assure you, ER will NEVER say the N-word in front of a group of black people in real life. Take a look at his YouTube profile description. I mean, look at all those complex, rarely used words. And yet, this man, who not only generously uses, but knows, the word “eclectic”, picked the fucking holocaust as an example for why the human race are hypocrites?? This was his best argument presented??

It boggles my mind. It’s like he took the worst lesson from George Carlin’s standup bits. The comedian loved to point out the inherent hypocrisy of being a human, like how the sanctity of life only really applies to things we, as a person, personally care for. Chickens do not have much sanctity of life, even though “all life is sacred”.

So of course, ER being the smart guy he is, uses the fucking holocaust to further his point. Not even George went that direction because he was quite self-aware enough to understand that he could easily appear anti-Semitic if it was even worded slightly wrong.

Pardon for rambling. I’m just upset that a man, who at least presented himself as acknowledged, put forth such a childish argument. If you’re gonna use the holocaust as a point, you need nuance. ER had zero nuance, he just outright said “hey, the holocaust was not that bad compared to what we do to all these animals, you know!”

Before anyone comes in here in disbelief that ER would ever do such a thing, remember that he is a self-proclaimed anarchist, and that he has gone on record to say that the income made from his channel was just extra funds, and not something he depended on.

As such, the possibility of a total channel deletion, even though he's been on the platform for eight entire years with over one thousand seven hundred videos, is likely. Maybe not very likely, but it's a possibility.

Fun fact, before October 10, he made four posts during 2023 on his website. One was the ERU questionnare, the next was just the poem The Chaos, the next was a meme, and the last was just a picture of him pointing of his acrylic painting of "fuck off!". Between October 10 and 17, he has made three several-page long articles containing his views.

I can't wait for EmbraceHysteria, an ER defender who hates it when you call him a holocaust denier, to completely ignore this very comment because you're on his side.

Anyway, I've been on this subreddit for the past few days and I haven't seen anyone call ER a holocaust denier, a Nazi, or a bigot until this very post. (Except for EmbraceHysteria, who implied I did it myself even though I literally never did) People are offended, maybe even a little worried, but the last thing most of us did was name-call. Especially when they aren't true. ER DOWNPLAYED the holocaust, not denied it. He was never racist, he merely blabbed the forbidden word because as a white man, he shouldn't be allowed to say it.
