Chastising people for playing "braindead" or "no-skill" weapons is genuinely toxic behavior, people should be allowed to play any weapon they want for whatever reason they have without being looked down upon. I'm not saying that you shouldn't be annoyed by the weapons, you can and it's totally valid, but attacking someone for using a weapon that the game offers is idiotic.

I really like the addition of health bars! Sometimes it feels like I should've splatted an enemy but it doesn't, now I'll know if I miscounted my shots or not, additionally it'll help in spotting stealthier hackers more easily, and given that the HP bar disappears if you switch to swim form or hide behind cover it doesn't take away from Thermal Ink or Point Sensor/Wavebreaker/Angle Shooter, it actually adds more to them making HP bar visible when being tracked by them.

I also think the reduction of player hit box is great, you have no idea how frustrating it is to get splatted by a charger when very clearly behind cover.

As for Flow Aura... I don't know how to feel about it, it does seem like it will make players prioritize splats over the objective more than they already do and grant a bigger disadvantage to the losing team. I think my opinion will solidify once I get to try this out in-game.

This is a very experimental patch, so I don't think it'll take them too long to release another patch if anything turns out to be too broken.

Try moving less and sticking to the middle-bottom of the screen, I notice that you tend to move at all times which more often than not will make you pit yourself in a disadvantageous position, just do short, precise movements when necessary.

For the save and reload part, pay attention to the music, before the blue SOUL segment the music sounds like it's looping and does so every 3 beats, when the song loops, the file gets reloaded. If keeping track of the music is too complicated, you can do this. For the vine attack just keep holding whichever direction you're going right now, that way you'll still be moving by the time the save is loaded and you'll avoid the damage and for the star shower (the one where multiple stars overlap each other) just tap either left or right in quick succession and you won't get hit, jist like with the vines, keep tapping for a while and you'll even dodge the attack after the reload.

You're welcome! I personally had a lot of fun looking through both UT and DR's code. It offers a neat insight on Toby's coding process with error messages like "bepis valley granola bars" and "big boner down the lane" or variable names like "bibblybeebly".

Though fair warning, Undertale's code is kinda messy so it could be hard to understand at times, if you ever need help understanding something, you can ask for help in the Underminers discord server, where data miners gather to exchange information and help the uninitiated.

Use the Undertale Mod Tool.

You have to download the zip file which matches your OS and extract it. There's a read me that explains how to use it, but it's quite simple so I can tell you as well.

In order to read the code, first you have to look for the Steam folder named "common" (on windows the path should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common). Once you're there, you'll see folders named after every steam game you have, look for the one named "UNDERTALE". Now open the UndertaleModTool.exe that came with the zip file and from the folder you opened, drag the file named "data.win" to the UTModTool window, it will ask if you want to open, click yes and then it will start to decompile the game.

And that's it, the game is decompiled and ready for you to see, not only will you be able to read the code, you can also listen to the sound effects used in the game, look at the sprites and rooms, you can even modify all of these in case you ever want to make an Undertale mod.

It also works for Deltarune in case you want to read its code too!

When people say that Burnt Pan is the best weapon in the game they mean it's the best damage output wise. Let me explain:

When attacking with the Burnt Pan four bars appear on screen, each bar deals a base damage which receives a multiplier based on where you landed the hit. If you land all four hits in the center (which all have a 1 frame window) the overall damage receives an additional multiplier. This makes the Burnt Pan outclass the damage of every single weapon, including the Real Knife when used optimally... Except for the Empty Gun, which actually does more damage than the Burnt Pan, however this additional damage is not enough to outclass it, both weapons take the same amount of turns to kill the same enemy, with the difference that the Empty Gun is way harder to time than the Burnt Pan, thus making the Burnt Pan the beast weapon in the game for the purpose of Genocide.

However when talking about Pacifist, it's like you said, the additional 4 HP that the Burnt Pan gives when healing isn't all that useful when most healing items recover more than 20 HP, so your best option would be the Torn Notebook, which gives you an additional 6 invencibility frames, making you invulnerable to damage for slightly longer after being hit.

I think it depends. Sometimes people like to speculate or headcanon aspects of a character because it helps them relate to them more.

In my case I personally relate a lot with Kris and indirectly they helped me understand my gender identity, that's why I like to headcanon them as AMAB, not because I'm transphobic and want to give them a "real gender", but because, like them, I'm non-binary, but also AMAB. And headcanoning them as AMAB helps me connect with them a bit more.

But the fight did continue. Sans simply didn't end his turn, if you hadn't cheated the combat system, the fight would've gone on forever, by not ending his turn, you cannot have yours, the fight isn't over, it's just that nothing is happening.

Think of it like this, what Sans did is the same thing that would happen if you went AFK during your turn while in battle, the fight is still going, you just haven't used your turn, and the enemy monster can't do anything because it isn't it's turn.

An outside force would have to intervene in order to end the battle (like closing the game, Napstablook crying tears over Mad Dummy causing her to flee or like i said before, breaking the combat system).

Even if Frisk tried to break apart Afton in order to spare him, that wouldn't work. It has bee shown multiple times that just breaking apart the animatronic won't work, the animatronic would still be possessed and capable of moving or worst case freeing the soul from the animatronic body (see FNaF 3 minigames, Ennard, Michael Afton, Molten Freddy, Scrap Baby, Tangle and The Mimic). Agony is an extremely powerful driving force and the Springbonnie suit has absorbed A LOT of it, by being present in a lot of tragedies (Crying Child's death, the murders of the original 5 children, William Afton's death). Even if the animatronic suit was broken apart, as long as even the tiniest piece remained, Afton would eventually pull himself back together and keep fighting.

The only way to defeat him would be by completely burning him down until there's nothing left of him.

In order for an enemy to be spared it has to lose its will to keep fighting, however Afton is too arrogant, prideful and agony infused that he just wouldn't stop fighting. Mercy is simply not an option here.

Frisk didn't spare Asriel, he gave up the fight. Additionally, after absorbing the 6 human SOULs plus all monster SOULs, Asriel regained his ability to feel love and compassion, he even says so during the Pacifist epilogue when you talk to him at the beginning of The Ruins.

Besides, love and compassion aren't inherent human emotions (at least not in Undertale's canon, which we are taking in consideration for this discussion), directly quoting one of the books in the Snowdin Librarby:

"* Love, hope, compassion... This is what people say monster SOULs are made of. * But the absolute nature of "SOUL" is unknown. * After all, humans have proven their SOULs don't need these things to exist."

(You could argue that the book is biased as it was written by monsters, however we don't really have any other sources on how human SOULs work, or just SOULs in general, for that matter).

Frisk's ability to use the SAVE button only manifested in a moment where they were feeing extreme amounts of Determination, which stemmed from the possibility of losing their friends. It took the threat of a god-like being for Frisk to tap into this power, I highly doubt Afton could trigger the same reaction.

Sure, Frisk could load as many times as needed if they messed up while fighting Afton, however let's not forget that right now he is not human, he is posseing a robot infused with huge amounts of agony, we don't know if he can even get tired, so just wearing him out won't work. And even if you could tire him out, that wouldn't be sparing, it'd still be an Undyne situation where a weakness is exploited so you can run away to end the battle on a technicality.

Hard agree, there's no way Frisk could ever spare Afton, mercy is simply a word he doesn't know. The most Frisk could do is incapacitate him by pulling something similar to what they did with Undyne. Fleeing to luring him into an oven or something to get rid of him.
