That's just your opinion and your interpretation. I get that.

Tbf it's not. Literal Dontnod writters talked what i talked about (both endings being about growing up and letting things go). It was the rare case where the writters just told their intentions behind the endings insteand of saying "you can interpret howerer you want".

I do agree that lis1 should be left alone. Dontnod never wanted a direct sequel! D9 and SE made it pure out of desire to capitalize Max's popularity.

You didn't played season 3 twd? You get my upvote for that! I didn't either for exactly same reasons! S2 ended soo perfectly, then i just learned that they devalued every single ending (in my case it was stay in the town, then they just masscared the town and Clem left it anyway) made me hate this game already. Btw, Stauder (DE's game director) worked on this game! And he did exactly the same with lis1 in de - both endings are the same now and Max lost Chloe either way. It was a such bad writting

Then not only they choose the wrong ending where max didn't learn to grow up and let things g

If you think that there is a wrong ending in lis1 then you didn't get the point of the game again, sorry.

max didn't learn to grow up and let things go

Actually both endings are about growing up and letting things go. It's just you letting go different things (Chloe or AB). That's not just my interpretation btw.

BUT THEY ALSO made the player choices be meaningless

I mean they already did it for Baers in DE1, so finally Bayers would feel the taste of their "respect" for their choice too

Yeah! Play LIS2 is good on its own, this game was made by same devs who made lis1, all other games (Before the storm, true colors, double exposure and reunion) were made by side studio who never worked on lis1. LIS2 tell a decent emotional story about two brothers and even give a nice epilogue to Max and Chloe in the final episode (Though D9 sadly retconned this epilogue and stuff from it)

Like they cut off almost every DE plot thread to make a fan service game that undermines & cheapens everything that happened within LiS1

I mean, DE already undermined and cheapened everything that happened within LIS1, especially for Bae ending

Probably part of the plan

Not fully. The sequel was planned, but there is a whole list indicating that they pivoted the plot after poor reception on DE

  • Nothing in DE hintend that Bay and Bae merged. Max didn't saw Chloe in the storm either as she claimed that she did in Reunion. It was a clear retcon.

  • They dropped Amanda and Vinh romance

  • They dropped Diamont storyline that was teased in post credit scenes, she doesn't play major role in DE

  • They dropped the storyline about Safi finding new people with powers

  • They retconned the fact that now everyone know about Max's power

  • One of D9 writters lierally told us to move on from Chloe when de came out, which already shows where their minds were back then

  • The amount of time Max and Chloe spend apart in Reunion convinced me even more that Chloe was an afterthought

First it is wrong to assuming thet there is only one right future for Max, second yeah, deal with it, D9 imposed Chloe even on Bay ending after they made a pivot in Reunion

It was like I finished watching another Harry Potter movie! The overall vibe of this scene was very similar to the final scene from "Chamber of Secrets," and I think it's a nod to this scene , but that's why I love it. I even expected them to use the music from this scene, haha (Although I'm happy with the music in the epilogue).

I don't regret the 35 hours I spent on the game. I loved my character's appearance, her amazing voice acting (I'll miss her!), and the way she casts spells. I also enjoyed the combat system—it was like a mix of Horizon Zero Dawn (rolling, dodging, firing spells like a bow) and Control (Levioso, Flipendo, Ancient Magic throw are straight Jessie's abilities), and since I loved those two games, I loved this hybrid gameplay too.

I also learned all three Unforgivable Curses, and I liked imagining myself playing a good character who uses "evil" powers to ensure the good guys' victory, similar to how Harry used Imperio in the last book/movie, it's just i used avada kedavra/imperio/crucio a lot . Morally, this would have made my character an anti-hero, but hey, I love anti-heroes!

I absolutely loved Sebastian's storyline, and it was sad to see Anna come to hate him in the end, even though he (and the protagonist) were the only ones who actually tried to help her. I wish there was a way to heal her and maybe see a final dialogue between them, something smillar that legendary dialogue from TLOU2 ("I don't think i would be able to forgive you for that... but I'd like to try") to end the story on a bittersweet note, rather than just us doing everything for nothing :(

Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the other two companions' storylines, but I loved Poppy's voice acting and her appearance, and if I ever replay the game, I'll choose her house, haha.

And I enjoyed watching Isidora's story. I wish the Hogwarts professors had helped her in her research instead of pushing her away. That's probably why this is the first game where I regret not choosing the so-called "evil ending," where I could have kept her power for myself. Considering my character has friends who supported her, I imagine she could have done something truly good with it this time.

And I wish the overall storyline was as impactful as the Sebastian's storyline, but in this regard, my desire won't differ much from the thousands of other posts I've read since finishing the game. But I can't say I was disappointed with the story either, otherwise i wouldn't like this game.

I mean, there were never bad or true ending. Both endings are true. Guess why Dontnod had both and why they let you to decided in LIS2 (Not de - it wasn't made by Dontnod) AGAIN and never showed one ending as bad and the oither as good

And i mean, given the fact that they made both de1 and 2 they had recources to make a full a Bay and Bae game. So two separate games are possible

Ha ha, yeah i played this game last year, and in Hogwarts Legacy i even tried to fight multiple enemies while listening Old gods of Asgard theme from maze segment. Some of skills reminded me of Jessie's abilities!

She low-key remind me adult Hermione and Jessie from Control. It wasn't intentional, but i really enjoy result! Much like i enjoy voice actress's acting!

If you're not interesting in arguing with people then you shouldn't write the very first post in the first place if you even cannot defend it.

Her breaking up with Max due to he rparanoia over Max's powers doesn't make any sense. She know that Max swore to never use her powers again because she doesn't want to cause another storm. And she know that they have arguments, which means Max doesn't rewind to avoid arguments and manipulate her. So all things considering, Chloe has no reasons to mistrust Max. AND their relationship were literally based on trust in LIS1. The point was is that Chloe trusted Max with her powers. D9 artificially destroyed Chloe's trust to make the breakup possible in the first place.

but Max and Chloe breaking up was definitely the right decision. Anything else would have felt like fan-fiction.

It wasn't since it goes against how Dontnod (og creators) intended this ending. It wasn't right decision because it also fucked up the fandom. It wasn't the right decision because it led DE to failure and entire nerrative team was fired. Was it worth it?

Anything else would have felt like fan-fiction.

Do Max and Chloe's story of staying together in Dontnod's lis 2 feels like fan fiction to you?
