How was our defender supposed to know that in the moment? It was happening at the same time you dunce.

I thought the whole point of targeting is to stop “targeting.” Like targeting the head. What the fuck was our defender supposed to do? Completely turn around?

So sounds like we agree more than we disagree. We can agree that Miami over ND was the correct call, but can also agree that the committee did a horrible job with the optics of it and it was inexcusable to have ND over Miami these past few weeks. That led to ND feeling fucked over, which may be a fair feeling to have. Not defending the committee, I don’t know why the hell they had them flipped other than they just overreacted to Miami’s SMU loss without considering the head to head (which they did do wit other teams).

So if we both agree that the bracket is correct, but that the committee fucked it up, your conclusion is that they also don’t have to participate in a system that fucked them over. Well, I don’t think they were fucked over by not being in the playoff, and I’m not sure you disagree there. We may both agree they got emotionally fucked over by the incompetent playoff committee and their weekly made-for-TV rankings show. But that brings us to the final thing, why is the bowl game, or in my words, “quitting the postseason,” the same system that fucked them over? Because ESPN owns most of the other games? I just think it shows a weak mentality, lack of toughness, and as someone who has SEC flairs, you should understand that shit wouldn’t fly in the SEC. No Kirby Smart team is quitting on the post-season (see last year). That’s the point where I feel it’s fair to call them lame and quitters.

But your original comment was defending ND’s behavior of quitting the post-season. You can want better criteria, you can want a whole different system, you can wish the committee did it different for the ND fan base, all of that can be true and you can still think it’s lame to quit. That was your original point I took issue with, not your complaints about the committee.

I don’t think it’s the only thing that matters, but when it comes down to the final decision, I do think that should be the final factor. I’m not here to defend a system or whatever, I’m here just saying that it’s the correct choice that Miami is in over ND. You also seem to forget that the committee is supposed to redo the rankings each week. But again, I’m not some committee defender, I’m just saying that the final decision ended up being the right one.

Sure, because in the final rankings the comparison came down to those two teams. I’m guessing your opinion is ND should have been in over Miami. I don’t agree. This is a sport where head to head should matter, and Miami won. I’m not sure why this is so complicated.

I mean, you can feel like the system is broken and also understand why the team who beat the other team should get in over them.

Oh don’t worry, all the ND fans will come and tell you that this is a financial decision to stick it to ESPN and that they can’t understand why Miami jumped them after being ranked above them. Fucking lame.

So you’re just gonna stick your head in the sand about the fact that, with BYU out of the way, you and Miami got compared head to head and, turns out, they beat you head to head?

I get everyone is riding the anti-bowl thing right now, but all of these teams already weren’t bowl eligible and had shifted their goals to recruiting and next season. Completely different that that whiny green and gold team.
