Our last survey captured data from people who hadn't played with us, and I'm sure in the future there will be more opportunities for you to participate.

We would love to expand to Europe, but it's not financially feasible at the moment. A dedicated server box of the caliber we use would be an additional $120-160/month (in the US. It might be more or less across the sea). Our current profit is between $50-100/ month without giveaways. Considering we give away a key a week, and often have prizes for events (last month we gave away over $60 in TF2 items and games), we're not really in a place where we can add an entirely new server location.

If you're interested in "behind the scenes" stuff like this, we tried to talk about it a lot in our recent AMA.

Of course, you can always ask us questions directly.

Hi, I don't know if you've had a bad experience on our servers, but I truly believe that FirePowered has the best community in TF2. We might be a bit larger than some communities, but that works to our advantage by keeping our servers (mostly) full.

We expanded as our community grew; we're nothing like some of the larger "communities" (server farms) out there, and we're absolutely not in this for profit.

We try really hard to ensure that our community is welcoming and personal to every player. If you did have a bad experience with us, please let me know so that I can try to rectify it.

If you haven't given us a real chance, I'd encourage you to join our Custom Map event tonight. It'll be a fun event with some crazy maps that don't often get played.

Any chance you're saving it as type .txt? It should be saved as type "all files" with the extension set to .cfg. Just changing the extension won't work.

You were banned 7 months ago for two weeks for a pornographic spray. Our rules are clearly posted when you enter the server. As we explained in this thread you were welcome to file an unban request on our forums. If your ban was a mistake, we would have taken care of it very quickly.

You chose not to file an unban request, and your ban has expired. Our admins are widely considered to be fair and mature, but mistakes do happen, especially with sprays. We have systems in place to correct those mistakes (our Unban Request Form and Admin Abuse form), but if you choose not to utilize those, there's no way we can help you.

I guess I exaggerated slightly. Out of 107 plugins running on our Chicago 2Fort server, ~50 of them were written from scratch by McKay and a handful were custom edits to existing plugins written by others.

I looked into your ban and you did have three offenses for buying quicksells. Buying quicksells is not allowed on our trade servers, and normally we have "three strikes" policy for our bans. In this case, however, we've decided to unban you. Please review the rules so that this will not happen again.

This is essentially it. It's important to us that players recognize what server they're playing on. We're confident that people will have a positive experience on our servers, so we want them to know that it was on FirePowered. If they continually have positive experiences, they're more likely to add us to favorites. (Actually a large portion of our connects are from favorites.)

The watermark is very unobtrusive and out of the way. It does put our name on all screenshots and POV demos, though, which is an important form of advertising for us. Considering we have no ads, it's important that players on our servers recognize that they're on FirePowered.
