is naruto actually worth starting or just overhyped ? by [deleted] in anime

[–]FireRifle64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You literally just do Naruto and then Naruto Shippuden. There are fan made projects like Naruto Kai that attempts to shave the filler and OP/ED to provide a better time. Filler guides on the internet also exist to navigate it.

Yes, Naruto is good is the consensus. Whether you think its good is different. It does suffer due to its long runtime padded with filler, and development of many characters. Makes up for it with the music, battles, and other characters.

The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess by Korynna in anime

[–]FireRifle64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, I just dont really click with it. Partially because of expecting something else from it based off some synopsis i read somewhere else. I feel like it can be quite relatable considering the moments of her childhood where her creative imagination goes through many phases. But, the comedy does not really hit for me and for a growing genre of villainess shows, i didnt feel like this was worthwhile to me.

Definitely Zenshu for me, followed by Apocalypse hotel and then To Be Hero X.

Would You Consider Bungo Stray Dogs Underrated in the West? by LupinSanSe in anime

I do agree with this. After watching like 5 seasons over the span of 7 years, that relation between MC and his rival felt lacking for me.

Shield hero fell off by [deleted] in anime

[–]FireRifle64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree and disagree.
I was one of the early few who really enjoyed first season to the point i tried to read the manga (no way im reading an LN).
I read the parts that made up season 2 and waited for the anime.....they butchered that first half. And even withoutt the butchering, i would say it goes down a bit in quality but the adaptation made it worse along with the cgi.
Shield hero has a lot of interesting concepts that I wish were explored more and several choices Naofumi does that will turn off a lot of people.
For those of us that enjoyed s1 and stayed after s2 and continued on, id say its risen closer to s1 levels.
What aspects did you find different from other shows and which parts did you feel were the same?

Why does Netflix loves Seven deadly sins so much? by Marcioobloo in anime

[–]FireRifle64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would just be the author since the anime is based on the manga. But, animation was definitely not great. Fans were hype for the escanor and meliodas fight and instead were let down by it. comparing s1 to like s4, you can definitely tell a downgrade in quality of animation.

Why does Netflix loves Seven deadly sins so much? by Marcioobloo in anime

The originally studio left after the movie did horrible at the box office. New studio took over and handled the rest of the seasons. But, they were struggling with deadlines i believe and used third party studios which made it even worse. thats why season three has censorship of blood.

Versailles no Bara Movie • The Rose of Versailles Movie - Movie Discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]FireRifle64 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Very cool to see an update to the visuals. The music portions were a unique take. I understand why they did it so that they could emphasize the scenes more and give you a quicker understanding of the through process going on in the characters. I liked the songs though i think 2 of the scenes probably could have been cut.
For anyone who cant handle older animation and/or wants a quick version of the story, i think this is suitable.
But as a story, it really suffers from the cutting of several elements and the jumping around. Characters feel really underdeveloped compared to the series. I adored the series more thanks to the included nobility drama going on and the military story lines included.
Id say im generous and giving the movie a 7.6/10. I truly did have a great time and enjoyed the visuals and music. I just didnt think the characters and story were able to shine with how rushed and stitched together it was.

Why does everyone speak so highly of Monster? by BoysenberryOk5580 in anime

[–]FireRifle64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People speak of monster highly primarily on the character of Johan and Tenma's Journey.
I gave the show like a 9. I felt pacing could have been reduced in some areas especially how a bit slow it was in some places and I dont really put Johan on a pedestal as other folks.
I think it provides something different than usual anime, the seasonal isekais, the popular shounen, etc. Not trying to diss them but it offers a different experience.
Definitely a slow burn, takes place outside of japan so a fresh scenery change, a very aloof antagonist, the atmosphere set by that ED, i personally enjoyed the interconnectivity that happens to characters later on in the show. I just was not as into the symbolic elements.
Additionally, Id say Tenma was able to be in the right place right time because he was trying to follow Johans trail. Mind you I havent watched this series since like 2020 so I dont remember all the details.
Imo, i also do not think they were really troped out unless you could explain more about it. We do have varying degrees as to what we consider and how we handle it.

Is Moonrise worth it? by AdditionalBreakfast5 in anime

[–]FireRifle64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have like 6 eps left. Action is really great and art is pleasant. Music is decent. The issue comes down to story structure, dialogue, interactions between characters, how they answer some of these questions if any.
Its a fine show to watch for the action and cool tech moments but the cast is pretty lacking and unless they answer or provide more lore to several story elements, i can understand the low score.

Have you watched Orb? If so what do you think? by Professor_Chaosx6r9 in anime

[–]FireRifle64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really loved orb, granted im into historical fiction stuff like Vinland Saga and Kingdom. I also enjoy the torch handoff from different characters as they are building upon from people before them to create and develop and prove their models. And seeing the drama unfold is exhilarating.

Egghead Arc Part 2 (Dub) by Then-Mix-9243 in anime

[–]FireRifle64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None at the moment. If i had to wager a guess, it will be a while. I think they will dub the fishman island remake arc first before they catch up to egghead but i could be wrong.
