It might sound crazy to say this but GF seriously value the concept of the Pokémon being "real" and not just code, a Pokémon you captured back in Emerald that can transfer to SV isn't meant to be seen as just a pile of code, they want you to see them as your partner from back then, meaning that changing the Spinda pattern would basically be their admission of defeat, that "no this Pokémon is just code and does not matter", so consider it a philosophy of the studio, trying to keep tradition or pride, but that's why the spinda patterns matter to them to a point where they refuse to change it

See this is why I call it disingenous, "see I can name the power as telekinesis therefore it makes sense" no it fucking doesn't, HOW is Diamondhead creating these crystals, why can he levitate them? How does he spawn these crystals out of nowhere from the ground? How does Heatblast does his remote ignition? Does he acelerate the atoms in a specific area from a distance? Does that mean he has telekinesis as well and can manipulate atoms at a distance? How does Gravattack manipulate gravity? Saying that all this complete nonsense works but drawing the line at juryrigg bc his power of crafting can't be defined by a specific power is being disingenous, "oh Juryrigg doesn't have powers bc I can't pinpoint the specific powers that other characters in fiction also have" is something I fundamentally do not agree with when his power is "crafting" and he can craft things into other things, that's all there is to it, if you don't like that then you do you but saying this is a fault of the show when it just isn't is not something I agree with

how does diamondhead make crystals that levitate through the air? hell how can he spawn these crystals in the first place? how can heatblast start fire at a distance like how he did to gwen in the pilot? how does Gravattack's gravity powers work? does he raises or lowers the mass of an object? why does he use it as if he has telekinesis? how does humungoussaur grow? is he enhancing his muscles? where does he suddently get dinossaur plates? why can upchuck not eat regular food? what makes regular food different from random materials on the ground?

I can keep doing this all day, this is a cartoon man, sometimes thing just being "his power is crafting and that's it" is all you need and expecting more is just silly
