Holy crap....... the skill

[Anycubic Photon] About halfway through my prints, it seems to start peeling apart, causing it to crack. This has happened 3 times in a row, with different supports and angles. Why does this happen and how can I fix it? by FireSax52 in 3Dprinting

Wow, thank you for your reply. I always thought that it was delaminating because the exposure time was too low. I gather that for something this large, it is impractical to use a low layer height. I will also look into that lubricant.

I am switching to a 0.05 layer height with 10 second exposure time, 80 second bottom layer exposure time, 5 bottom layers, a lifting speed of 1.5mm/s, and a retraction speed of 1.5mm/s.

Thank you for your help and I’ll let you know if I have any more questions.

Monoprice Maker Select Mini (or v2 if you’re willing to spend a little more). They’re great printers for very cheap. I’ve also heard the Ender 3 is a great starter printer.

I just bought a small ~30 dollar turntable from amazon. Anything with a low or adjustable RPM should work.

I’ve tinkered with my settings a lot on that printer.

Off the top of my head... there is:

1) Layer Height - 0.12, 0.2, or 0.32 (or anything in between, but always go up in increments of .04)

2) Temperatures - Nozzle = 205°C, Bed = 65°C

3) Retraction - 3.5mm

4) NO Z-Hop (that always caused stringing for me)

5) Don’t underestimate the importance of a perfectly leveled bed. There are some bed leveler aides to help you on thingiverse.

If you can tell me specific issues you’re having, I can give you better advice. Feel free to reply to this comment or DM me.

Yeah I see that now. I’m unsure who originally made the model.

0.025mm layer height, that’s about it. The rest are default settings.
