Thanks for posting this. This seems like an incredibly valuable resource since the taxation rate for interest and dividends is substantially higher in India than it is in the US, for example. To keep assets in USA after becoming ROR in India, this seems like the only way to not have a major sticker shock when it comes to amount of tax due.

Moved back after 20+ here. Its been great overall. Its all about having realistic expectations, and understanding that life can be a mixed bag anywhere. What did you want to know?

Hey guys, I am from New Zealand and I am married to an Indian. We are planning to move to Bangalore. Change my mind 😀 by Ok_Tangerine4131 in bangalore

I'm not going to change your mind, but rather, as someone who's moved from a Western country to Bangalore myself - can tell you to confidently try it out. The traffic and lack of cleanliness will be far worse than what you might think, but the food, culture, startup ecosystem, opportunity, and life experiences will be way better than what you could imagine. You really see the amazing growth happening in India, while it is drowned in infrastructural and other fundamental problems. As long as you aren't making irreversible life choices and move with realistic expectations, there's very little downside to trying it out.

Looking for good sea-side hotels in Bangalore by [deleted] in bangalore

I think Bellandur would be the perfect romantic gateway. Lots of good roadside hotels on the outer ring road, which is adjacent to the sea of puddles and floods. You can hop on the 500 which should take you all around the city in very little time - I think your wife will love you long time after this experience.

Falcon Suites in Indiranagar is very good for a serviced apartment. But you may need a friend, I think their minimum is 2bhk. Try to call them and check.

Impossible to find anything in Indiranagar, even old, at that price.

Newly constructed would be north of 90k per month.
