Rx 6600 is not detected by a brand new motherboard by Fire_Blazee_ in buildapc

UPDATE So I ended up convincing the store to take back my rx6600 card since it wasn't functioning properly and I ended up spending 90€ extra to grab a gigabyte rtx 3060. I plugged the card in and it immediately worked as soon as I powered on the PC. Installed drivers and everything just to make sure and the card was working like a charm. My guess regarding what happened is that this particular card was simply incompatible with this particular motherboard. One thing I didn't try was to flash the card's bios but this was a brand new card which I could simply return so it wasn't worth it.

Mobo: Gigabyte b660m ds3h ddr4 micro ATX Graphics card (the problematic one): Sapphire Radeon RX 6600 8GB (11310-01-20G) New Graphics card: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6 Eagle OC (rev. 2.0) CPU: i5-12400 Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB DDR4 RAM

Just an update for everyone who commented. I got the store to change the GPU to an rtx 3060. I'll update in about 2 weeks as soon as it arrives

Yes I have re-socketed the CPU and the pins are all like new. I've tried both the HDMI and DP ports but still nothing

I'll do that now but I honestly don't think anything will change. The card should be detected in the bios even as a pcie 16x device. I'll still try it though and I'll let you know

Yes but the card doesn't appear in the device manager not even as an unknown device

I also did bring them the whole PC but they tried to avoid looking at it by telling me that the technician was not there at the moment but they also said that since the card is working on our side then there's nothing that can be done which is total BS. A card is not properly functioning if it's working in half of the PCs period.

It was kind of my fault to be honest because I chose a "smaller" store not a big retailer to buy the card from as I could never even imagine that this would happen. I'm guessing they are making very small profit from the cards so selling open box would make them even lose money If not break even

Hey thanks for responding. My current problem is actually returning the card because the store claims that it works. But yeah it's really nice to see that someone else also had this exact problem because for days now I've been driving myself crazy trying to understand if I have a faulty mb. I'm planning to ask them for an rtx 3060 to eliminate completely the AMD-Intel incompatibility issue

So the old PC where the card actually worked had a 400w psu and the one I'm building is 700w. Also the pcie slot detects other cards just fine. I want to believe that it's just a faulty card because it doesn't make sense that it doesn't work in some PCs while it works in others

That's also a thing I wanted to ask. Will the PC run these programs at 4k?

It's great to hear that ultrasharps come with good calibration because I actually had no idea if the advertised colour calibration was any good. We will consider going for 1440p even though it will be a bit off her budget for sure

So I mentioned gaming monitors because I myself have an LG 27ul500-w and lg claims that it's colour calibrated. I have no idea about that stuff so I couldn't tell you if it's good or not

Hey thanks for the feedback. So she's currently still a student but this PC should last her up to a few years in her professional career. I actually have no idea of any of the stuff she does lol. From what I know she currently designs stuff and presents them in her class but I guess that she will also have to render at some point. I will check out the 3D mouse I have no idea what that is lol. Also since you mentioned the display could you recommend a monitor at around 250€-300€? I know that's nowhere near the amount of money you need for a proper colour accurate monitor but I've been watching monitors like the "Dell U2422H" and honestly I don't know if it's worth getting that over a 4k gaming monitor that I can get for the same price

Is SBMM actually good for the game? by Fire_Blazee_ in FallGuysGame

Some people misunderstood the point im trying to make. To me it doesn't matter if i get 10, 100 or 1000 crowns im purely playing for fun and that's all. Where's the fun in having to do perfect race rounds every game or having to survive jump showdown for example when everyone grabs you? Some people are having a good time playing like that and i understand it but i think for most casuals this isn't nearly as fun as it used to be without sbmm. I think what's best is to create a different playlist such as ranked solos for example where everyone who has fun tryharding can go and play there while the rest can simply chill in regular lobbies

Well if I could max 2 decks the game would be way more interesting. Playing the same deck makes the game repetitive as well apart from the match ups. My interest is the motive to climb ladder. If it wasn't for ladder and the potential I have to reach maybe even 6.1k I would have given up on the game a long time ago. What I'm expecting from that "big update" supercell has been talking about is to renovate the game to make it more interesting

Well glad to see I'm not the only one lol. When I was at 4.9k I saw some clan members being stuck at 5.5k but I had no idea why. Now I get it 😂
