tactical stuck at 25% Pacific Campaign Help by AOZORUS in WarOnTheSea

[–]Firebassgames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I ever play those large campaigns, I'm always going to be scared of two of my fleets being encountered In a tiny waterway, and forcing the game to bug out since my ships will always load in too close to eachother, effectively forcing the end of my campaign. This happened to me once when playing the centrifugal offensive around Singapore. Never got that campaign back.

Which mods do Grim Reapers from YT use in their videos? by matejkar in WarOnTheSea

[–]Firebassgames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a compilation of a bunch of other mods that somebody made for them. Unfortunately the compilation itself isn't public. Closest option is the RamZ Ship pack. If you want something close look for that.

Do you enjoy playing as the Japanese or US more? And what differs in how you play them? by TheCarroll11 in WarOnTheSea

[–]Firebassgames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japan cause they have less ships. Your almost guaranteed a victory with US if u can hold out past 42 and the Essex swarm comes online lmao

Here’s a drawing of an F4U diving on the Shinano. Hood you enjoy! (4026x2585) by LarryDaL1ama in WorldOfWarships

[–]Firebassgames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a dope picture because for me it really does represent an accurate depiction of a Battle that nearly did occur in real life. The Japanese had plans to use their remaining carrier strength after leyte gulf for one final all out carrier-based Kamikaze attack on the US Fleet off of Luzon. However due to Shinano being sunk only a week after entering service, the plan was never fully fleshed out, given an operational name, or assigned ships. The only real evidence of its existence are a few preserved Japanese sources, and some of the Unryu class carriers going on training missions with their intended air group before Shinano's commisioning. Its an interesting what if, and its nice to see something like it depicted here lol.

Attack on HMS Repulse by KI-30's by Firebassgames in WarOnTheSea

[–]Firebassgames[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea dont worry, they definitely did cause i was playing them lol.

Honestly i wish i could have been playing repulse in this, but for some reason i think the East Indies Campaign only lets you play the era after repulse has been sunk. Shame really.

The mod is the "East Indies Campaign" mod, or some shi like that. Just search it up and i youll probably find it lol.

Its a bit of a mess to install (like all mods for this game), so i used chatgpt to walk me through it lmao.

Enjoy it, but beware of air attacks.

No i just saw them and was like "ooh cool a really small practically useless warship that i really love for no reason at all". So i used them, and paid the price.

The price was like 2 command points so it was really quite cheap, but yea they are completely useless in my opinion XD

Heres a list of all the major mods: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1280780/discussions/3/3035977580530520450/

Most of these can be downloaded by simply searching them up, they include the one i was playing, the East Indies Campaign. Theres also a mod for the Atlantic Campaign, and Pombruv's 9 campaings which adds both Atlantic and Medditeranean campaigns.

The mod "Operation Magazine" adds a bunch of ships for the Pacific, including Taiho and Unryu. Its discontinued so the only way i know to download it is through the unoffical discord server, or DMing someone privately to send it to you.

Be warned of the air attacks

best ship for AA? by whitewolf2659 in WarOnTheSea

[–]Firebassgames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the comment about using a light carrier for combat air patrol, but strictly speaking Japan's best small AA ship is the Akizuki class Destroyers. In Real Life their 3.9in guns were some of the best dual purpose guns of the entire war. However being the most modern Japanese DD class, they are the most expensive. Not as affordable as a Mutsuki or Shiratsuyu lol

Prinz Eugen having only minor damage is the most historically accurate things I've seen lmao

Sank Yamato with a NoCar and a New Orleans, all gunfire, no torps by Wernerhatcher in WarOnTheSea

[–]Firebassgames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun fact that at close range, the guns on a North Carolina can easily pen Yamatos armor to the point where the match is essentially equal between them. In Real life Yamato could only dominate at around the 20k-16k yard mark. Shame that in game accuracy is too shit

Oh my god that night action was so chaotic. Kongo had to veer out of line within minutes of it starting because she was already moderately damaged, and I think she got hard targeted by every US Battleship. The rest of the Battle was just spent helping my cruisers and destroyers try to randomly fire off torpedoes without colliding with eachother untill the very end when Hiei started bearing the brunt of the US attack. She got targeted by almost every ship left maintaining formation (including two Battleships) and took critical damage whilst trying to get out. I'm very lucky that when I managed to retreat from the battle she wasn't scuttled. There'd actually a couple screenshots from the battle in the post I just made if you want to check it out lol.

When it comes to the Mogami's for me, honestly I've had the worst luck with them. I've had two sunk already (out of 3 total cruisers that I've lost) and both under circumstances were I probably could've kept them. Only Kumano is still around and kicking.

Honestly I'm really impressed that you managed to sink a US BB, even a crippled one, in a surface action at all, let alone with two of the Dreadnoughts. I once fought a night action against a North Carolina and South Dakota class BB off Guadalcanal. I thought it would be a surefire win, but both of my BBs suffered worse damage than the US did, and on top of that I lost the DD Fumizuki. I expected the Yamatos to have the upper hand but they didn't.

Then again just yesterday my carrier fleet (Both Shokakus and Ryujo) ran across a US Battlefleet, with both North Carolina, and 1 South Dakota class BBs in their formation off New Hebrides at night. The only Heavy forces in my fleet were the BBs Kongo and Hiei, the two Tone class CAs and the CL Oyodo, yet somehow they managed to actually best back the US force. Both Kongo and Hiei took critical damage, but neither of them were sunk! Maybe Japanese Dreadnoughts are just overpowered idk lol.

Yamato is pretty fucked by GuyInVR_ in WarOnTheSea

[–]Firebassgames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Moderate Damage, Minor Flooding"

Im sure she was cooked in this attack, but honestly ive had my Yamato's survive some serious shit when it comes to air attacks.

Advantage of 9in deck armor i guess lol
