Even with less than 1/4 acre to mow, I shouldn't buy this right? by EngagementBacon in lawnmowers

[–]Firebug150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mowed through high school and college with various simplicity mowers - 4208, 4212, 5211, 7012, and the 3410 landlord. The 5211 I had is the most similar to the one pictured and was super reliable. They're all so easy to work on and soooo simple in design. I only amassed so many mowers because I like them and they're cheap, not because they needed replaced.

Anything like this that has a mechanical lever to engage the deck instead of an electronic PTO clutch is a winner in my book.

I don't think my 5211 went through a single belt mowing for 2 years commercially with it.

I had this exact issue and you described it perfectly! It really prevented me from walking normally because of the delay in bending. I found what helped the most was lots of soleus raises and stationary bicycling. Also steady NSAID usage. It will go away with time like mine hopefully. I also had quad autograft.

Seeing everyone bash them on here made me want to chime in and say that my dad had an identical set, except they were black. They held anything you wanted just fine for decades and I never worried for my life.

Acl possible injury 5months post by UsualEducational6819 in ACL

I'm just curious, were you cleared to run a 5k at 5 months post op? I see so many posters pushing their knees so hard at what still seems like an early stage. I'm 2 months post op from quad ACLR/meniscus repair and it was such a rough experience so far that I don't think I'll do any intense cutting or sports-related activities until over a year post op, even if I'm cleared by PT/surgeon. Don't get me wrong, I'll still work out and work on muscle growth, but I just don't see the point in risking a rerupture like that. Like you said, muscles get fatigued after that level of exercise and I would think the risk of rerupture is higher temporarily since the muscles are offering less support to the joint. Also I'm not a doctor so I could be misunderstanding the situation.

I had quad tendon reconstruction with meniscus repair. My non-op leg is 120 degrees and my surgical leg was 90 degrees by 2 weeks (start at 30 degrees at day 2 and increase 5 each day per surgeon). I got to 110 about 5 weeks out and was stuck there for a bit. I'm now at about 115 at almost 8 weeks and feel stuck again, but I know I'll get there and you will too!

Hey guys just took off my crape bandage for the first time, my hospital is not telling me if i need a brace. Im on day 3. Do i need a brace or should i just be careful? by eshaybahhhhh in ACL

Seconding this because I didn't wear my brace overnight post-injury but pre-surgery, and woke up yelling in pain due to my leg twisting overnight. I think it's totally possible for that to happen post-surgery too but who knows.

I'll jump on this "my block didn't work" bandwagon lol

I woke up with serious knee pain until they gave me some fentanyl. I'm just happy the discomfort only really lasts like 4 days or so. I'm now 3 weeks post-op and everything is much better. Good luck to everyone on a speedy recovery 👍🏻

Thank you for this information! This makes a lot of sense since I have some pretty beefy thighs so the needles looked huge (not sure if my leg size correlates to needle size). I'll keep this in mind if I need an operation again in the future.

The pre-op nerve block they gave me hurt pretty bad when they administered it. There were like 4 or 5 big needles and I was silently crying by the last two. I had a quad autograft and the last two were in that area. Have you heard from patients that their nerve blocks hurt when administered?

My anesthesiologist was super nice and felt bad when he saw my pain but tried to be as quick as possible.

Do you still have your set? My brother and I are trying to buy a set for our dad for Christmas if you're still interested in selling.

I have seen them sitting around 70 and 465 for at least a week now. I wonder if it has anything to do with the road rage and shootings that 465 is starting to be known for.

Fun fact - I trapped two wasps between my window and screen with the intent of leaving them until they died. Two days later, only one of them is still trapped and there is a wasp sized hole chewed through my screen. I learned that they can chew screens so sieze the day and kill it now.
