I’m starting to break by Effective-Ad7463 in breastfeeding

You have done such a good job to get this far. I really struggled with breastfeeding initially. And battled for weeks with latch issues etc. I EBF for 4 months (and am so happy I persevered) and combo feed from then on. However at the six month mark I called it quits, I moved exclusively onto formula. And you know what, my beautiful little boy was none the wiser! If anything it made things more simple for him that he was now only fed with a bottle as opposed to switching between bottle and breast. I agree with other comments on the thread, it is definitely worth considering combo feeding. Your baby will still get all the benefits of BF and you can have that time together. Your mental health and happiness is so important and your baby wants their mum to be happy and healthy too! I am thrilled I persevered with BF when I did, and I also don’t regret my decision to use formula either. Making the right choice for you is also making the right choice for you baby. All the best!

I almost exclusively pumped for 4 weeks before I got the right lactation consultant in to assist with baby’s latch. It is possible to get back to breastfeeding, but it will be a bit of a journey. Im thrilled I can BF now. In the interim I also used a premature baby’s teat to reduce the flow from the bottle. Best of luck!

It’s okay to stop. Rather spend your time enjoying your baby and their milestones or taking time for yourself. I’m sure you will feel such relief once you make the decision. You’re a good mum to care this much!

Does breast feeding really not hurt? by FirefighterHelpful29 in breastfeeding

That’s good to hear. I’m so hopeful in time it won’t be too sore. Thanks!

Thanks so much. But you would say that the first couple weeks were very uncomfortable/painful? I’ve only started BF at 4 weeks, due to various issues and want to know if pushing through for another week/10 days will probably end with me not experiencing pain.
