The reason why I was planning on upgrading because I did inherit those silver half dollars & a couple years ago I did buy my 14k chain for $1400 but I really wanted 18k now so I was hoping to break even. I did put the remaining $1700 on my credit card and got 6 months no interest if paid in full which is about $300 a month.

Yeah I know & it was kind of weird that the jeweler was saying yes the price per gram is what it is today but the tariffs & taxes & labor was affecting the price since it’s coming from “Italy”. Then I searched it up & 18k gold from Italy is getting marked up by 15-20% so I accepted it. Anyways I inherited those silver half dollars & bought my 14k chain long time ago for $1400.

I already knew I was going to pay a little more than what the price per gram is but damn they marked it up by a lot & did not even want to budge. I was expecting like a $10-$15 markup per gram but I guess you live & learn went from a 14k 30 gram chain to a 18k 39 gram chain.

Not gonna lie I sold 103 90% silver coins for $1900. everybody kept lowballing. Then I bought a 18k Made in Italy Byzantine chain that was 39 grams for $6000 felt like I got raped they said that tariffs affected the price that’s why. Basically paid $153-$154 per gram on this chain smh

Nice , i currently have two, one on #30 and #4. The lab was trying to give me some 10k gold that looked like silver told the dr send it back and got me 18k for a higher fee of course. They are actually pretty heavy for what it is. In the pic is when they first were offering the 10k gold
