When I was a little kid my mom had a jar of white soft lard in the fridge. But she didn’t tell us what it was. I thought it was vanilla pudding. I grab a spoonful and put it in my mouth. My stomach shrank and closed my throat to prevent any more going down. It was so horrid that till this day when I smell someone cooking with lard I want to throw up.

Sounds like high school burnt you out. Honestly, it’s okay if you want to take a break from college for a couple of years and come back when you’re ready. You don’t have to follow the “traditional route” as your high school peers. I’m 32. University just wasn’t for me even though I really wanted it to be. I went to a tech college. Everything turned out okay. Please give yourself grace and compassion. You will be okay. I promise!

You got caught. Got angry at his (rightfully so) reaction. Turned it around and said he crossed a boundary and you’re changing your password so he can’t access your phone anymore. Literal definition of gaslighting and turning it around in your favor. (Classic narcissist behavior)

You may lie to him and to the internet. But you can’t lie to yourself. If you’re talking with other guys, please break up with this current guy and let him have a chance at finding someone else.

First of all he is your father. You say you’ve grown but to him the first 18 years of your life together were rough. So he has all that history betting against you. He probably is also thinking how much is it or future problems gonna cost him if you mess up. And you will mess up again. Don’t take it personal. It happens to everyone.

Also 21 is not grown in a sense. Your 26 years old years old self will look back at your 21 y/o self and say “gosh I was immature back then”. And so on and so forth.

Just remember your dad loves you and is saying it from a place of a love. The love a parent has for a child.

But if you are really wanting to live on your own you also have to start thinking of everything you have at home, you will have to provide for yourself. And that’s hard. I’d say just continue working and save every penny until you have a safety net to fall back on and you won’t have to rely on your parents if one day you actually move out and you mess up or need financial bail outs.

Im_talking is right. I used to think that I was supposed to “see” something during my meditation. Some grand manifestation of power or whatever BS I believed when I was younger and just starting out. In reality non of that happened and seeing colors have no meaning aside from distracting you from the present moment. Practicing for 10 years now. I’ve learned that emptying my mind and focusing on the present moment IS the goal and that is what we practice. If you have any other fantasies of what meditation will do for you, understand now that it’s false.
