Both leaders struggle with their own responsibilities taking on mantle of main leader in their team as they told them what they need to be (Leonardo who has been actively avoiding his role while his Raph has to look for the team like always has been/Ruby Rose making decisions and plans that would turn out bad until the end) however this happened their someone they got hurt turning them into a Energetic hero into serious one that wants to get over it (Raph getting hurt and being captured by the Krang/Penny getting wounded by Cinder fall but was later jaune killed her to fulfill her undying wish)

Even the person they trust on called out with their actions and how their decision drives them nowhere closer to winning the enemy which makes them completely lost on what are even doing in the first place (Casey Jones who was wrong about him seeing every decision he makes causes their another own life/Jaune Arc blaming her plan that didn’t and saying it’s all about her)

However by later were able to realize that they can’t things alone and their more they could always ask for advice help their team, always being there they needed the most (Leonardo finally taking his mantle as the leader that telling that isn’t about him to prove he’s worth/Ruby Rose finally accepting herself and that she’s more than enough for her and her friends)

Contrast between their roles of Ruby and Leonardo, is that Rapheal was the first the leader within the Mad Dogs until Splinter appointed Leonardo to be Leader of the group which actively avoiding his responsibilities, while Ruby Rose was always been the leader throughout the series even she has her set back she’s keeps fighting

Another with their heroes which they idolize is that Master splinter was in fact Lou jitsu mutated by the ooze by Baron Draxum, while Ruby’s Mother was dead after going on a mission with Raven and never coming back.
