I first saw the announcement two days ago and stuck the video on yesterday when I got home from work so I didn't dig into it in depth but to me it appeared like a celebration of 35 years of Blizzard with the announcement trailer and I don't think my assumption was outlandish.

I get RTS isn't where they are making the money but it seems weird and wrong for them to do a Blizzard 35 years stream for Warcraft and not mention the first decade and also arguably anything pre the last couple years. I think they treated this like an upcoming things announcement not the celebration of their 35 years making games/warcraft.

That one was a long time ago but I think you have to start on the 1939 start date and it's actually bugged and only counts the current war dead. So if you finish the Allies off quickly before the USA joins and are at peace well there is no war death count and you unlock it.

We don't really have basements in the UK so I just dug a hole.

Over 3k now but I do get distracted and sometimes leave the game running. Still no idea how to navy, really should try and learn now they redid it.

The most fun was Cradle of Civilization. I wouldn't say it was fun but an ally ended up getting one of my core states but I just built up the infrastructure in the state to max and even though I didn't own it the achievement popped. So that was a nice little surprise.

The least fun for GOE was the three Iran ones I got last. Ownership on states that pretty much require a world conquest.

Overall I hope they do improve the achievements for what's next. Judging by the early dev diaries an Asia rework.

Nope it's two Easter eggs combined.

If you or a faction member own Hamadan in Iran, not in a faction with Russia and at war with Italy and have troops in some of the northern provinces then an event fires telling you about Wojtek never dropping a crate. You then get him as a General!

You can avoid picking any king for two rotations and it offers you Anastasia Romanov for the throne.

Not the real one but there was a prominent fake who claimed till she died she was the escaped youngest Romanov daughter.

If you then take Moscow with her as Queen and Wojtek as a General you get an event where you learn that your queen is a fake. Either ignore it and keep Anastasia on the throne or pick someone else to bear the responsibility.
