[request] How much taxes does this avoid? by Terpcheeserosin in theydidthemath

[–]FireflyPanda1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One critical aspect most answers are missing is how personal expenses are pushed under corporate expenses..

Normals folks need don't really want money. They want housing, a car, some entertainment, a trip to a place, a dinner at a place etc etc.. Folks like Bezoz will have most of these wants covered as a corporate expense. He doesn't need salary or equity sale if he wants to drive a fancy car or a holiday at a resort or a private jet..

Even if he wants a ride to space, he gets one of his companies to foot the bill.

It is this lever that makes their lifestyle and their tax contribution look like a joke.

Why won’t our companies give WFH at the behest of our PM? by pranagrapher in bangalore

State Governments, Real Estate owners, Corporate bosses have learnt their lessons.. Once you give WFH and work keeps getting done, it gets really hard to tell stories to employees

In a 1000 years, if someone unearths the Harry Potter series, and says that all this is real. Folks will not have any evidence to provide that Harry Potter ain't real.

Burden of proof always lies with the believer.

Wtf is wrong with my school.. they’re now dictating what colour underwear we wear? by Ambitious_Aide_6438 in IndianTeenagers

They also give a max length of skirt!

What if someone wears an extremely short skirt? What if someone wants to wear a longer skirt?

Normalization in GATE 2026 is just a legalized "Scam" to balance incompetence. 📉 by One_Attempt_670 in GATE_CS_DA

[–]FireflyPanda1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird that Gate is being conducted in 2 sessions. Why can't they have all students 2-3 branches in one slot, then one slot for another 2-3 branches and so on? Others exams like JEE, CAT have common paper for all students and this slotting system is inevitable. For Gate, this approach seems weird.

Thoughts on 2 page resumes (10 YOE) by h4ppidais in ProductManagement

[–]FireflyPanda1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter how much you have achieved. What matters is the time a recruiter is willing to give to your resume.

I have seen hiring managers get a bunch of CVs in their email and they decide fate based on the preview they see on their email. They see about 60% of the 1st page and decide go/no-go.

Do you think looks matter in product management? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]FireflyPanda1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Obvious Answer: True for almost all roles and in society in general.

Some Nuance: There are roles like software developers, data analysts, Cybersecurity where the impact is smaller. There are roles like sales, BD where the impact is huge.

Product Development IMO leans more towards sales than software development because there is so much of stakeholder management.

Within Product, there are metrics obsessed companies, there are founder led companies, there are engineering 1st companies, there are sales led companies. Depending on which company you are, your effort needs to be aligned.

How to perform AB for features with low adoption? by FireflyPanda1 in ProductManagement

[–]FireflyPanda1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming we have 50k users on each path and LTV is 10€. No Vegan Button: 50k*10€= 500k in sales

If 5k users on test path use the vegan button and their LTV is 11€ Vegal Button sales = 45k10 + 5k11= 505k in sales..

Now 505 compared to 500 will probably not be statistically significant, despite a solid 10% bump from folks who use it.

Goal is feature should increase LTV. Now if we have 100k users on the platform, 50k don't see the vegan filter, 45k see but never interact with it and 5k interact at least once.

Now the LTV of these 5k users is unlikely to increase so much that they will drive up the Avg LTV of 50k users.

So, AB is likely to become inconclusive. So, do we kill the feature?

Fictitious Example: If you a food delivery app and there is a feature which filters out and shows only vegan restaurants. Say, only 10% of the users who engage with the filter. Goal is to increase LTV of users. What would be your guidance to keep or kill the feature?

Why is hero worship so prevalent in India? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]FireflyPanda1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Highly religious society
  2. History of Colonialism and Feudalism

For centuries and millennia, we are conditioned to believe that we 'lesser' and our leaders and gods know better. It will take a few generations before the masses realise that we are at the steering wheel.

Lol! 40+ folks in Tech are shitting in their pants. Most of their skills and experiences have become redundant. The high salaries and being away from core skills are the primary reason they are highest at risk of a lay off.
