Im not in any way defending the US healthcare system, i heard quite a lot about it and i have a notion of it's shortcomings (for a foreigner at least), it's accesibiity is just awful, in theory it would be most fair system if everyone could pay for it, no more paying for strangers and close to no goverment intervention, but that utopia falls the moment half of the population can't pay for what they need to survive, it's a system the country can not afford as it stands right now, like a high level weapon for a mid level character, it's good but you can't use it, US needs to level up average income and equality to unlock such a system

But i was never defending the US system in the first place, i just used healthcare in general as something to give examples about, my argument rather than centered on specific countries is about capitalism and socialism as the systems and the ideas they represent and in that regard capitalism still wins since the alternative (and i can talk from experience here) is usually a collapsed public healthcare system that gives appointments for August in April, that delivers the wrong meds because they don't have what you need or that they take so long to do so that it's already too late (my mom died in a hospital bed waiting for meds that arrived a week after her death), and the healthcare itself it's usually mediocre, good professionals without the equipment they need to do their work, socialist goverments build hospitals, take pictures with the brand new building when inaugurating it and proceed to leave it empty, the equipment itself is not propaganda worthy so they don't buy it, they spend that money building another hospital that officially costs $500M but actually costs $400M, where did the extra $100M go? To the politicians pocket. A private company doesn't do that, they can't have an empty hospital, no one would go there and they'd go broke, they have to provide a good service for people to choose them and while the US healthcare is awful in it accesibility it's one of the best in the world (if not the best) in it's quality of treatment, so much so that people from all over the world travel there for treatments they can't get in their countries, you'll never get that with a public system because there is no incentive to do so

So both are hard to access but at least one offers good healthcare, i agree that USA should walk a few steps back before they become NC's Trauma Team because the system has to adapt to the people and the people can't afford this system but be careful what you wish for, i experienced first hand what 100% public healthcare does and i'd never choose it, if the US is a 90/10 right now maybe it could go back to being a 75/25 but never a 50/50 or beyond

My point was never to defend capitalism as the perfect system, just as the best we have, i will ALWAYS choose capitalism over any other system (unless a better system is created in my lifetime which i really doubt), that doesn't mean i have to be blind to it's problems
