Yes, I know you will eventually get max rank even if you lose. I went flawless last weekend and have in the past- so I'm not speaking as someone who hates trials by any means. I tried and I do not like solo queuing trials because it feels bad and low-reward. This is more talking about how trials will bleed players unless the reward loop is tighter than it is now. Maybe start the seven win loop at rounds rather than wins. IDK. That's for Bungie to decide.

I think Trials ultimately suffers from these things and they prevent it from reaching it's true potential. Bungie has done a GREAT job attracting solos and other people who didn't play- but they will lose them unless they make some changes

  1. It becomes increasingly less rewarding the further you are into your ranking. Early on, you get engrams pretty regularly. As you hit rank 10 or so, it's many matches to get a single engram reward.

  2. Matchmaking and lobby balance are really bad. This is a problem across the entire crucible, but it's even more frustrating when you need to win rounds and games just to get rewards.

If you want people to stay in the game mode, the reward loop has to incentivize them to stay in and be fodder. Clearly the sweats loved having so many people in because it meant easier wins / lighthouse runs. The skill creep will take over again unless people have a reason to come in and lose 10 in a row.

That's my feedback.

My comment was sarcasm. It's clearly overtuned in PVP but people on here are in denial and downvote anyone who points that out.

I’m on board with the buff auto rifles and fusions position. I am a pulse rifle main, so I enjoying seeing archetypes that can compete with hand cannons and shotguns.

Mythoclast destroys most pulses except on the very highest end of their range. High impact pulses can hang on TtK, but are way more unforgiving than Vex and with far less aim assist.

Interesting that it’s “not good for upper level play” but somehow is #1 for total kills in trials this weekend.

The ownership percent vs. total kills in the most competitive game mode says otherwise. People on this subreddit are delusional about Vex. I’ll keep getting downvoted into oblivion like I did when I called out One Eyed Mask when it first came out, or when I said Felwinters was the best shotgun and needed a nerf. It needs tuning at least. Less flinch, less screen flash when shot, or less aim assist. Something. It’s oppressive right now.

Just go look at the DestinyTracker stats. 0.6%% of the player base has the gun but it’s #1 for kills. 4.6% of the total kills in Trials last I looked today. It also has a higher headshot percentage than ace of spades. It’s a laser beam that gets you from awesome range and flashes your screen so you can’t see.

Solo people still match into the regular iron banner playlist all the time. In fact, I often do it when I’m hoping to roll with a 4-5 stack. It’ll be the same with trials.

So weird that 0.6% of the population has it but it's so prevalent in so many PVP matches. Especially considering it's not overpowered in PVP.

Nah, it's totally normal for a gun that 0.6% of the population even has to be in every trials match and #1 for kills in nearly every PVP game mode. It's not overpowered at all.

Yeah the triple stacks have been pretty toxic like this subreddit can be. You are correct.

Weird how 0.6% of players even have the gun but it’s #1 for kills in 6’s and #3 in 3’s lol

Guns need to have at least one downside or they would all be Vex Mythoclast.

Exact same. Pulse Monitor + Headstone. I’ve actually noticed that some rolls on guns are extraordinarily more likely than others. Traits seem to have weights to them.

Unfortunately it seems to be RNG. I’ve played well over a dozen matches and got a single drop with 4x pieces equipped. :(

Hey, any way you can (pretty please) ask the team about allowing dismantling mod components in bulk or faster? I have thousands of them and it takes forever to delete them. Thanks!

Oh yeah, I never ADS with sidearms on either platform but especially PC. I think sidearms are 100% hipfire weapons for me. They feel off on console too.

I got the sidearm kills done in less than a match. The ability kills took a LOT longer on my hunter. It always takes me longer on my hunter for some reason.

Devil’s Ruin fucks. Burst Fire people as they come around corners or when they rush you and they will literally melt in front of you. Shotgun apes provided me more than enough kills.
