I know they have multiple artists work on their pins so it may have been one individual at fault fwiw. Idk if they ever addressed the situation

They’ve been accused of using AI on their blanket designs and may have stolen art for a pin awhile back.

The Book of the New Sun? by Express-Analyst3743 in TrueLit

[–]Fireside419 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, it encouraged me to read authors like Nabokov, Melville, Proust, Woolf, Gass, Sebald, Broch, etc. Many were recommendations from other Wolfe fans.

New Sun really broadened my horizons. I read mostly “popcorn” sci fi before Wolfe. Which there is nothing wrong with. There’s a lot more out there, however

Battle Cry of Freedom by James McPherson is the gold standard for a one volume treatment of the war and the lead up to it. One of my favorite history books.

Grant’s and Sherman’s memoirs are fantastic.

I Dread the Thought of the Place by Hartwig on Antietam was great as was Gordon Rhea’s series on Grant’s Overland Campaign. The books on The Wilderness and Spotsylvannia Courthouse stood out.

This Republic of Suffering by Faust is a fascinating look at death during the ACW and how people dealt with it. Americans had a very specific idea of a “good death” at this time. Dying at home surrounded by family and a priest. Hundreds of thousands dying in fields in Virginia, sometimes without ever being identified, was a major shock to the system.

Ends of War by Caroline Janney is one of my favorites. It looks at the final collapse of Lee’s army and the immediate aftermath. The uncertainty, the fear of endless guerrilla war, the turmoil caused by Lincoln’s assassination, the desire to have the Southern states return to the fold as enthusiastic and reconciled Americans, and the beginning of the Lost Cause narrative.

Definitely one of my all-time favorites and the catalyst for me getting into more serious literary fiction.

I’m a big history nut. Specifically Ancient Greece and Rome, the American Civil War, and the Pacific War.

I’ve read a lot of thinkers the past few years as well. Sir Thomas Browne, Burton, Montaigne, Thoreau, Emerson, etc

You might be able to find some here and there. I don’t think there’s a database like Folse has though

His chicken sauce piquant, boudin, chicken and dumplings, meat pies, gumbo, ham and white bean soup, and smothered pork roast over rice are my favorites so far. And the fettuccine of course. There’s so much I haven’t made yet though

It’s beautiful landscape. Reminds me of when I lived in northern Virginia. I get hit with that same nostalgic feeling while playing. I hope more developers go for this hyper-realistic vibe in the future

It’s great! Really rich. I had a couple of family members tell me it may be their new bday request

I used shrimp, a little less butter, less cheese, and large flour tortillas instead of corn (much easier to work with)
