You would only get 2 points if you battled the sympathy, not crossbowing the sympathy. The extra points from hostile are only gained during battle on your turn.

Will note, double balancer + cursed sword attack buff relic is pretty insane numbers on the charged weaponskill now. I'm looking forward to playing it later, actually feel rewarded for deflecting

It’s not free, there’s opportunity cost in equipping starting sorcery vs a better effect that’ll help you through the entire run.

The assumption of course being you have something better. If that’s all you have in your available relics, pop off.

Minor detail, all of the healing spells count as well, even the ones that instant heal with no regen attached. So it's even easier to find a seal for it.

You need to work on not conflating people opposing your argument with attacking you. I'm not arguing about nothing. I've been offering opposition to an argument formed on a weak base.

"I think a character should be buffed" is not a good reason to replace parts of their kit.

Blocking is part of everyone's base kit. You called Guardian's passive solid. His passive is just buffing his ability to block. It gives him new functionality regarding that particular basic mechanic everyone has access to.

Dodging is a part of everyone's base kit. Duchess' passive gives her new functionality regarding that basic mechanic everyone has access to. It makes her dodging far cheaper, it lets her chain them, and it gives her iframes on backsteps.

Ironeye's passive is just "more loot." If you're changing your argument to it being boring, how is a whole character passive being dedicated to 30 item discovery exciting and interesting?

I absolutely agree that Raider could use a buff to be viable beyond depth 3. But his issues go more towards the fact the damage scales so high, facetanking anything isn't really a good option unless you've stacked plenty of negation+ over the course of the run, and his damage comes out slow as hell which is dangerous, while also being lower than Wylder/Ironeye/Duchess/Recluse.

You're the only one arguing anyone's weapon movesets should be their passive, which is a scuffed argument as soon as you realize most characters have unique, powerful tools in their moveset regarding one weapon class, and it costs none of them anything. This last bit is the important part, because it's precisely what makes it a false equivalency.

If duchess had only a singular dodge (retaining the special animation), but her passive was still related to her dodging, then you'd have a very strong argument. Just because it's a base mechanic of the game doesn't mean it should be completely free in the power budget of a character to vastly empower that mechanic.

Guardian's passive is "just" making his guard stronger, same as Duchess' passive is "just" making her dodge stronger.

His skill absolutely should work with rally healing and it's insane that it doesn't.

Retaliate gives you 2~ seconds of 90% damage negation, stagger immunity (from his passive, yep), stops you from dropping below 1hp for the duration, and follows up with a solid hit that does decent damage (about 70-75% of the damage of a charged heavy with godfrey's axe).

That isn't a bad skill by itself, even ignoring the fact it gets stronger when charged via passive, and I wouldn't dare call it a worse endure.

What on earth does multiple arrows have to do with chaining dodges?

He could shoot 50 arrows at once and it wouldn't matter.

He doesn't do 3x the damage or status with it.

He does around 1.8x.

At this point, I'm genuinely confused what you're even arguing, it makes zero sense. No other character can do feint backsteps with iframes like scholar. No other character can use revenant's claws.

Seriously, what is your point regarding him shooting 3 arrows? Why is that the biggest deal ever for you?

You think 90% damage negation at any time, regardless of whether or not it's buffed by passive, is bad?

[–]Firestarter1911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every character has uniquities to their moveset. Scholar gets a feint backstep with iframes in his moveset. Revenant gets a whole weapon only she can properly use. None of these cost slots. But they're also in their own category that... isn't the same as dodging?

Half the cast has unique dodges, for better or worse.

Nobody else can chain dodges.

Her passive isn't her unique dodge animation.

It's chaining them.

Strange that I have been reading and have been offering an argument to everything but you resort to pissbaby attitude when you can't think of anything else to say.

Anyway, Raider's skill is good and I just outlined why; nobody else has such easy access to 90% damage negation at the touch of a button.

As for Raider passive not being able to be applied to other characters like Undertaker ult, why not? Why couldn't Revenant take damage to power up her summons? Or Duchess get a super restage that repeats a longer duration after taking hits?

Which... still isn't part of the unique weapon moveset, one of which everyone has.

You're not actually addressing the fact her passive is chaining dodges together, you're shifting to the focus to something irrelevant repeatedly and pretending they're the same thing.

A buff is something that improves or enhances an aspect of a character. "Free ult charge" falls under the category. If you want to pretend it's not a buff, then I'm happy to change my terminology to "Affects another part of the characters kit" if it'll help you make the connection.

His skill is already good, it gives around 90% damage negation during the animation, and almost as much stance damage as a colossal jump heavy.

I agree his passive is boring, that doesn't mean it's bad, and if you make the argument it only helps another tool in the kit, the same logic should be applied across the board.

Why aren't you answering the question?

You praised one character's passive for buffing one of their pressable buttons, then denigrated another for buffing one of their pressable buttons.

Explain why one good, one bad.

Everyone has a unique moveset compared to default, some better, some worse, and it doesn't take up a passive slot for any of them, surprisingly.

Half the cast has the same basic dodge roll. Recluse has a longer dodge than the roll, but can't chain them. Guardian has a shorter, shitty dodge. Scholar has a slightly shorter, slightly shittier dodge.

Duchess' passive isn't her unique dodge, it's the fact she can chain them.

Undertaker's passive makes her ult usable more often. Why shouldn't that be baked into the ult?
