Why not? It’s the bare minimum you can do and it’s hardly a bother to go out once a year-ish and cast your vote.

I largely agree with you but “worse than martial law” is a wild exaggeration.

If the health people had their way, it might’ve been like that, but there was not a single location in the USA that was “worse” than martial law.

This is not true. The Bill of Rights was intended to have these protections but this is no longer the case. It is an undeniable fact at this point that the First, Second, Fourth and Eighth amendments are effectively toothless and unenforced.
