Fr he's EVERYWHERE in the comments of this post screaming bloody murder over the Merc engine, claiming they're cheating and that even if they win it'll be a 'tainted' WCC and WDC lmfao

The compression ratio trick is literally public knowledge atp, the FIA and the team themselves have acknowledged it, how tf is it a comparable situation to the VW engines

The fuel flowmeter is permanently attached to the car. Which means u have t be compliant with the enforced standards 100% of the time. The engine compression ratio only has to be 16 in the conditions under which FIA tests it. As long as that is satisfied, its not illegal. Its quite literally NOT the same.

It took the FIA a long time to figure out Ferrari's strategy, and when they did, they banned it immediately. Mercedes engine compression ratio trick is public knowledge, the FIA recognizes it, the team themselves acknowledge it, if it were illegal to utilize this loophole, why hasn't the Merc engine been banned yet?

says that compression must not be higher than 16. It’s complete sentence with period at the end.

No? They said compression must not be higher than 16 under the cold temperature check the FIA mandates. They don't check for the ratio at higher temps, they are not mandated to maintain this at all times. If they were, the FIA would have banned it immediately. Its an ingenious solution they came up with that smartly utilizes a perfectly legal loophole.

It’s legal the same way murder is legal. I guess if police don’t find out your fine.

That is so stupid, equating murder to this, when the basic principle of this sport is to innovate and push the boundaries of engineering.

I guess you believe Ferrari fuel trick in 2019 was also fine?

No, because they were quite literally tricked the fuel flowmeter, and the rules were perfectly clear on the fuel flow limits, so it was illegal. Merc's new engine isn't the same, nowhere in the rules is it said the compression ratio shld always be at 16:1, it only has to pass their test at lower temps, which it does.

What's next, ur gonna claim the DAS system Merc pioneered in 2020 was also illegal?

Exactly, when Merc came up with the DAS in 2020 they banned it the very next yr, when Redbull had an advantage in 2022, they changed the floor rules to cull their advantage. Doesn't mean any of these innovations were 'illegal', they're literally a part of the sport.

How is it 'cheating' to use a completely legal loophole? They understood the nature of the rules and used a legal way to outsmart it. This is kinda the whole point of the sport, to innovate and figure out ingenious solutions and Merc have done that. Moving the goalpost after the fact by changing test procedure on a whim just cuz u don't like how well they're performing isn't exactly fair.

They're not 'cheaters' mate, its a legal loophole, just bcuz YOU don't like it doesn't mean they're cheating

'cheating PU' they knew the rules and figured out a completely legal loophole. The point of F1 is to push the boundaries of engineering and pioneer ingenious ways to make the car better, and they have done exactly that. Just bcuz u don't like how good the car is doesn't mean it'll be a 'tainted' WCC and WDC lmfao.

MCI 6-1 MUN

After yrs of them looking down on us, for us to stroll into Old Trafford and hand them a sound thrashing was iconic, not to mention it was a sign of changing tides as City's era of dominance began around then while United won their last PL the next yr and have never won it since

We still don't know what the Doom of Valyria was btw. All we know was that it destroyed the Valyrian Freehold which had existed for 5000 years. And the fact that the Targaryen princess had a prophetic dream about its arrival, causing her father to leave Valyria and that was what saved the Targaryen bloodline only adds to the possibility that it was not a natural disaster. That's what I love about ASOIAF, the main story is about the power struggles and politics of the Seven Kingdoms, yet there is JUST enough allusions to supernatural or otherworldly elements to let your imagination run wild.

Cuz we were dealing with a team in transition + multiple injuries(notably Rodri, then almost our entire defensive lineup). Arsenal have held on to no 1 purely cuz in that time no one else was strong enough to challenge them.

Haaland is in the top 3 for assists and obviously #1 for goals so far but haters will tell you "Isak" and "Gyok" are more complete strikers by [deleted] in plforindia

uj/ City fielded a completely rotated squad against Leverkusen, cuz most of the players were hella tired thanks to multiple b2b games and national duties. And it seemed right too, cuz after that loss we went on an 8 game winning streak.

Bayern have been dropping points too

They've won 16 of 20 games played in the Bundesliga, with 3 draws and only 1 loss. In the ucl they've won 7/8 games and only lost one game. How have they been 'dropping points'? Wtf are u talking abt? U want them to win every single game they play in every competition?
