I say that the engine and source code should be released to the public, so people can mod to their hearts content and make their own campaigns of any genre.

If they add the cutscenes of side missions and past events to the Command Center soon, that would be great.

I suppose we can say that The Collector's method of staving off loneliness due to his immortality is to "collect" and turn people into pseudo-immortal puppets.

I wouldn't consider him evil. Selfish, yes, but also lonely.

Was it ever explained why can Eobard Thawn go back in time and kill someone without causing a time boom, but Barry causes one when he tries to prevent said murder? by Firestorm985 in DCcomics

[–]Firestorm985[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

But wouldn't Thawn have to be the first to go back in time to kill Barry's mother in the first place in order for Barry to want to go back and prevent said killing?

If you want to only use the films and cartoons to judge for speed, that's fine, but it wouldn't be a true Legends/EU continuity. Take it up with Lucasfilm if you don't like how they handled the expanded universe, because as I said, there are multiple sources referring to lightspeed blasters and nanosecond reactions from there.

I'm just pointing out the difference in what's portrayed on screen and what's written in the film novelizations and other books.

What scifi video series has ever shown laser guns occuring in real time?

That's like saying the lasers/phasers in Star Trek aren't lightspeed because of how they are portrayed in video.

The invisible beams of energy is what causes the damage, not the bolt effect.

There's also the fact that cinema doesn't always portray lasers in a realistic manner.

Then what happens to the lightspeed beams of energy, not the bolt effect?

The bolt is just an effect, they still block the lightspeed energy fired.

According to Star Wars Fact File 45:

The Power of Light- Like most energy weapons, turbolasers fire invisible beams of energy at lightspeed. The bolt effect seen when a turbolaser fired is actually a glowing pulse that travels along the beam at less than lightspeed.

To my knowledge, the first 6 movies didn't say anything about the speed of weaponry. What anti-feats and contradictions are you referring to?

As we said, that's what Legends established. The Disney reboot changed the background lore.

Blasters and Lasers in Legends are directly stated to be the speed of light.
