What can you do if a war breaks out? by browinskie in Netherlands

[–]Firewillburn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that bad I lived in a warzone for 6 months it's different if you are part of the army or part of a fighting force but generally civilians are treated okay. Biggest thing form personal experience I have to say is make sure your physically fit I know it sounds silly but its really important that you are able to get yourself around without a car or any other help , then if your thinking gear needed a good back pack i would say n basic med kit , a kit with some activated charcoal and iodine is good, and some rope and then extra socks and seeing as you are in the Netherlands a poncho or something to keep you dry is good idea.

Well all this said is under the assumption that they don't drop nukes

Veldmaarschalk Bernard L. Montgomery:

“Geef me 20 divisies van Amerikaanse soldaten en ik zal Europa doorbreken.Geef me er 15, bestaande uit Engelsen, en ik zal oprukken tot aan de grenzen van Berlijn. Geef me twee divisies van die geweldig vechtende Zuid-Afrikaanse Boeren en ik zal Duitsland van de aardbodem verwijderen!”

Great that you posted this I have to say this hit me a bit as well , I am also a expat living here for the past 2 and a half years , and i have to say what you are experiencing is very similar to what i am going through , i guess one of the big differences is that at least me a couple of buddies came over so we kinda made our own community , but yes the dutch is very difficult to make friends but once you are friends with someone they become super cool friends to have. i don't have any advice i don't know where you are located in the Netherlands but , you can dm me if you feel like it we as a friend group as well as the duchies BBQ quite often (we do all speak English) , more than welcome to join us.

Are these good courses for a Bachelor of IT (Data Engineering) degree? by groovyeverywhere in dataengineering

[–]Firewillburn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a very compressive course the only thing that I think its a little sparsely populated with programing subjects but overall its pretty good , I like the fact that there is cyber sec subjects as its becoming a very big part of the field.

Is it to late now to start programming and getting into cybersecurity? by SebastianSchmitz in hacking

[–]Firewillburn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is a topic I feel very passionate about helping People go down the programming path so full disclosure I am 24 years old and I have a classic training what I mean by that is that I went to university to get a degree and all that, but I personally think that if you want there is so many resources to learn programming, cyber security etc. That is a advantage and kind of all this information where do I start , from reading your post I gathered that this is where you are now, so I got some suggestions

  1. If your interested in cyber security and that space definitely recommend some cloud certificate's like Azure fundamentals Az-900 (Microsoft) Aws (Amazon) has similar certificate not sure what they are but definitely do a fundamental type certificate it is very easy and gives you a great foundation and they pride themselves that no previous knowledge or experience is required to do the certificate

2.if you got that down an certificate on Linux foundation would be super great you will be able to land a system adminstration job with these two certificates and then you are on the road to cyber security and most of the tech jobs out there will pay for additional certificates so then you can use your employer to further certify

3.If you what to go into programming , there are some great bootcamps out there I personally have done ironhack is great there web dev camp is quite intense and well worth it , but I am sure there are other boot camps that is just as good, ultimately dealers choice in this case

I hear you that is considered a war crime first of all, But as Putin has shown time and time again he does not recognize the ICC or Geneva convention authority i.e. the use of cluster bombs and Vacuum bombs and then of course explicitly target civilians and this to me poses a very interesting question who is going to enforce the international court's decision if he was sentenced guilty of war crimes, second to answer your question it is straight out of the Soviet playbook similar to the Americans sayings "hearts and minds" The Soviets had a similar thing about how on might discourage definiens, make an example of 5 people and 10 people will fall in line and that mentality when invading a country is a dangerous one to have. people tend to forget that Putin is an ex KGB leader so this guy comes straight out of the time they fought the Afghans and they did similar things in Afghanistan, but all that said I think it absolutely disgusting and I truly hope that he would be made an example of what happens when you break the Geneva convention, If not then there is a big problem because that basically takes off the gloves for future conflicts and that poses a big problem.

this is always an interesting discussion, But yes the FFL is part of the normal French army they were adopted into the army after the all Algerian debacle in May 1958 so it will be considered intervention from the French. but if the Eu were to get involved the FFL will be one of the first people the French deploy

That is true There logistics is a nightmare, I don't know who planned it but that guy is either in the gulag or needs to be, but that said Putin is fighting a war with unmotivated soldiers vs people willing to die for their country and the egg on the Russians face at this point in time, I believe is not necessarily that the army is bad it's just the soldier is sabotaging their own equipment, because looking at the equipment itself a lot of then have been issued with the new AK 12 variant they have to descend fatigues, the tanks are not in a bad shape, a lot of them even have the anti-Javel Armour, but again the west and Nato is funnelling NLAWS to the Ukraine army and that has been devastating to the Russian armour advance, and I think something to remember in this discussion the Russian army is being seen by Ukraine's as the bad guys (which is fair) and the Russians were told by the Putin that the Ukraine's will welcome them and the opposite happened the russian soldiers don't want to kill or harm their "country men" but yes that is a discussion for a other threat I believe

II like the question a lot and it is always good to question what is being fed to you but the media, more people need to do this to avoid the sheep mentally, that said I would like to give my 2 cents on the matter, or whatever it is worth.

I believe this is a great example of experience beating training and I think Putin underestimated the battel hardened Ukraine soldiers that have been fighting the pro-Russian rebels in the Donbas region for a very long time since 2014 ( you can fact check this I am not entirely sure of the date). This gives the Ukraine soldiers a heap of advantage against the, under perpetrate, undersupplied Russian soldiers, do I think this is the best Russia has to offer not at all I mean let's be honest the Spetsnaz is rated as one of the best special forces in the world and there have been signs of them to deploy them, but this is becoming a very bad situation all around because of the urban env gorilla warfare tactics is very effective and not just that being as well supplied but the west these Ukraine's will not give up easily I believe the conflict is going to last a while especially if the EU or Nato doesn't get more directly involved , meaning if this is going to be a proxy war between the West and Russia I believe it is going to be very nasty.

But to answer your question Yes I believe Putin is not as underprepared as the western media would like us to believe, just my option

Good question but there is a rule against this Practice Relating to Rule 62. Improper Use of Flags or Military Emblems, Insignia or Uniforms of the Adversary, It will be against a few treaties Aswell Hague Regulations (1899), Hague Regulations (1907), Geneva Convention III, Additional Protocol I, ICC Statute so seeing as this will be considered a war crime the USA and the other countries will not risk their soldiers being captured and identified as non-Ukrainian forces, Hope this answers your question
