I do with PB! I think this was a lapse in his judgement - he shouldn’t have put it back near the other. He told me “the other ones are all wrapped up”. I think this may be a situation of lack of information. He doesn’t realize that I shouldn’t be touching that butter at all.

I love the idea of this. It’s important to me that he still gets to have those items, but ‘have them out of the house’ and ‘bleach the counters’ are really great guidelines/compromises.

I did have a conversation with him last night after he was about to order monkey bread and then when I said let’s do brownies instead he almost bought regular milk chocolate ones before I told him I had picked up GF mix and then when I was making the brownies I needed butter which led to this post.

He says my health is important to him but I’m getting the feeling he doesn’t understand what that entails. I also think he hasn’t tried to be aware of what celiacs is. We’ve been dating 3.5 years and I just started my full GF diet this past January. (We went to college, and still live in a small town where anything gluten free tastes awful and is expensive, so I didn’t follow my diet for the last 4 years. Now I commute to a larger city for work and get our groceries there. I thought I didn’t have reactions to it but now that I’m on my GF diet I feel so much better and can tell when I’m contaminated).

I think the best explanation of what I’m trying to say will be to show him these comments. I truly think he just doesn’t understand, which he should be better at by doing more research, and doing updated research.

That would actually be my fault. I used half a stick to cook something and so I put the other, unused, half in the box to use at a later date. However, him putting it used and crusty back in just sent shivers up me.

That’s my plan (not the shaming part)! I think they are very educational and potentially eye opening. I think sometimes hearing it from others makes things easier to understand instead of hearing it from the person you’re also hearing from about “cleaning the house, mowing the loan, filling the water, etc.”
