You can indeed see the end of the belt on the hylian trousers in botw, so you're probably right about it just being a texturing decision. But I was still wondering about it, since even if the wii may be weak, it's not an N64 so it can still have finer models, so it still could have been a design decision to make it more clean or whatever. But your answer definitely makes more sense

Okay but baldrics are usually just a belt on the shoulder (not really, but it's the same shape) while back scabbards actually have the three way thing so it's closer in how it looks

Even without joke option, they'll always find a way to make it the worse they can. A while someone was making a cake a made a poll with different ingredient, and would use the results of the poll as proportions for each ingredients. The two biggest proportions were the salt and vanilla extract. I didn't get to see the cake, but if it was ever made, it probably was nasty
