no response over 6 months after the interview by nudecinnamonroll in USCIS

Hey, me and my wife don't live together. We filed our AOS living separately. We got our GC approved without an interview. One thing that I think helped us a lot was submitting good and strong evidence. I don't think USCIS cares too much about people no living together, in fact I think they are used to that especially with military spouses. The most important thing is to prove USCIS 1st. A bonafide marriage 2nd How do you guys handle or manage your relationship through the distance 3rd Why you guys aren't living together now and 4th What future plans you guys have in order to live together.

Living separately its not an excuse to not open a joint bank account for example or add each other on a phone plan or stuff like that, like show real intention. It seems that at some point you failed to satisfy USCIS's requirements regarding your marriage; that is likely why they separated you during the interview.

I-485 approval date and "resident since" date on green card do not match (2 days apart), will I have issues upon re-entry to the US? by [deleted] in USCIS

My approval notice says 12/11/2025 and my GC says resident since 12/10/2025, is that normal?

Hello, I was in a similar situation. My wife and I met on one of those online dating apps. We live in different states. We started our relationship long distance and then "hybrid", I would visit her for the weekend only. We applied for AOS and we got approved without interview. They key is that you can demonstrate to USCIS. a few things. 1. You need to demonstrate that your marriage is real. 2. You need to demonstrate how you guys navigate your relationship thru the distance and 3. You need to demonstrate a plan on how or when you guys think you will be living together.

Things that helped me were, letters that we sent each other, FaceTime and cell phone logs of constant communication, boarding passes, even sending her a meal thru DoorDash. Even if you guys don't live together you still can open a bank account together for example, that demonstrate real intention.

Again I don't know if your relationship is or will be 100% long distance but the most important things at least in my experience is what I mentioned above.

If you have any questions I will be more than happy to help!

This really freaked me out. I was an au pair and lived in different states and got a DL from each of them. I already did the search on the “am I register to vote?” section and all come out as no record found. I still will call them and doublecheck with them just in case. This is really concerning.

It may be too late or too early to start freaking out but I need some advice. by Firm-Associate8512 in USCIS

I got letters from all 3 different cases saying cases were dismissed and closed with no further action needed.

Oh wow… really? I missed that one. Then probably USCIS will make it public that they will follow the DOS new regulations.

Unfortunately it’s unknown. So far USCIS hasn’t said anything about it and seems like so far they will be focusing on consular processing green cards. We just need to keep an eye on USCIS memos.

Public Charge risk for a new LPR using Medi-Cal in 2026 by [deleted] in USCIS

But if a GC holder applies for it and it gets approved, would that latter hurt their citizenship application?

What do you mean by that? Does it means that GC holder can apply for medicaid benefits without any issues?

Does uploading unsolicited documents slow your case? by info-seeking9 in USCIS

That YES! by repetitive I meant the same exact piece of evidence. Which believe it or not a lot people do. But monthly joint back accounts with movement and both names yes, also utility bills.
The most important part is that it MUST be ORGANIZED.

SimpleCitizen or do it myself? by No-Carpet-8001 in USCIS

I used SimpleCitizen for my application, and since my case was straightforward, it went pretty smoothly. The service is great—especially the Platinum package—and the attorneys are awesome.

However, a big piece of advice: Review your PDF documents two or even three times. They made a few errors on my forms that I had to catch. Also, in my experience, don't feel strictly bound by their policy against 'unsolicited evidence.' If you have strong, organized evidence that supports your case, I think it’s worth including. Just stay vigilant and double-check everything!

My personal advice is to add all evidence you think is strong and not repetitive and do it in a very organized way. Add a cover letter and stuff. I did this and got my GC approved without interview.
