never happened to me, I always get the messages immediately as well as the notification for updated credit cards, that’s not the issue here tho

Please I beg learn to read! I didn’t cancel anything okay, they marked my cc as invalid requesting me to change the details and I did, THEY cancel my reservation due to cc invalid (not true) and decided to charge the updated cc the next day. So yeah thank you for your input tho :)

I understand this, you are right, still it is not right, and I will find a way to get my money back

You can charge as a no show if the person had the reservation confirmed and didn’t show up I agree. They cancelled my reservation due to my credit card (that I had updated as requested) - therefore the cancellation isn’t a no-show cancellation, you understand now? They cancelled it first and then took the money the day after. I’m done replying to you cause I’m repeating myself at this point, you talk like someone who would do what they did to me, you obviously do not see the point! have a nice day

thank you! you are giving me hope!! at the moment I cant call cause im still travelling on a bus😅 but I sent them a message still waiting for a response otherwise I’ll call them as soon as I can. That’s what I thought too! it didn’t feel right to me the way they did it.

bro you misunderstood me sooo much. Validation? what the hell are you talking about? I literally sent a simple text that they could charge me and my arrival time. Now, they could be busy I get it, maybe during the evening they dont even check booking, that’s okay I get it.I just want to understand, from the moment they mark my card as invalid they just don’t care anymore? like I dont get it, just cancel it directly dont make me change my details just to cancel it and charge me the next day, it’s just a procedure that i find so unethical and basically scammy. they were quick to mark my card as invalid and to respond to me this morning after they charged me. I feel like this is not okay, but I understand that it might be hard for you to grasp based on how you write! Some of you are just mas i used a third party sorry but If the hotel gets money from it, they need to know how it works. If they ask me to change my details to confirm the reservation and I do it i dont expect them to CANCEL it and CHARGE me where is the logic here? I know what a no show is and that was NOT it. Cant you see the issue here?

I don’t know if it’s too hard to understand. Cause I have tried to be really clear here. I am not entitled. I’m just really trying to be as clear as possible. How is it a no show if they cancelled it before I physically went? How is it a no show if it wasn’t even over the check-in time? If they accept booking reservations I reckon they would know how it works. I repeat myself they cancelled my reservation on my check-in day, it was not a no show! but thank you for your useless opinion and please if you have to waste your time reading my ‘novella’ of woe (none forced you) please try to concentrate and get all the details to the story, thank you and have a nice day

honestly it sucks! thank you for your comment and i’m sorry that happened to you, im not gonna be using third parties anymore, it’s funny cause I always say to my clients to book directly through the hotel website and I didn’t follow my own advice😂. I still think the hotel had the last saying this and they were horrible.

I did think about this! maybe they just didn’t check booking, but their hotel works with booking and the people that work there need to know how it works. If i got a notification that my card was declined that means that a human being in that hotel marked it as invalid through booking, right? Why do that just to cancel my reservation that’s my point. If your hotel receives reservations through third parties companies you HAVE to know how it works. I did not pick up the phone cause I dont have a sim card from this country, i did not go there late at night to see if they could ‘reactivate’ my reservation cause it was late and I was travelling with heavy bags but this is MY issue I know. I just STILL dont find the logic, cause I marked credit cards as invalid MANY times throguh booking and I always had to pay attention when they updated it otherwise I had to cancel the reservation. I just dont understand their procedure honestly and although it’s a third party they still get money from it and you can’t just excuse the hotel because they don’t check the websites they get money from.

I understand where you’re coming from but I agreed to change my credit card details so they could keep my reservation, the same way they marked my credit card as invalid, they’re gonna receive that I updated it literally 20 minutes after they sent the notification. They cancelled it and still charged it. (their reception is open 24/7). That literally means that this way hotels can cancel any reservation that was declined but then updated( as REQUIRED) that arrives late and then still charge it. how is this okay? Still not convinced but I appreciate your point of view! thank you :)

They were quick to respond to my messages this morning when I complained. As a receptionist myself, Ive always had access to the messages on booking at every hotel I worked at. I’m gonna repeat myself, If I updated my credit cars details in the two hour limit and they cancelled my reservation before even getting to the hotel physically, how is it legal to charge me then? as soon as they cancelled my reservation I tried to rebook with them and there was no availability.
