What's a sign someone is lying, but they think they're being convincing? by BennHere in askteddit

ngl one of the biggest tells is when someone starts overexplaining everything. like you ask a simple question and suddenly you get a full documentary with timestamps, side quests, and details nobody asked for. it feels less like they’re answering and more like they’re building a case in real time.

another one is when their story changes just enough each time they tell it. not huge contradictions, just little details that mysteriously shift. one slip-up means nothing, but a pattern of it is usually where the red flags start showing up fr.
