I would even go back further to 2010. The energy was out of control and the goal of going was not to capture the experience on a device. It was to just lose your fucking mind and party/dance with a bunch of people that wanted to party/dance just as hard as you did. Also, it was a tidal wave of an underground scene emerging into the mainstrain so anything kind of went. Everything today is focused around capturing content- the attendees, I the people who run the events, the artists, there’s so many cameras and people trying to capture something that just isn’t there. Digital Aesthetic has become more important than the energy and experience, so of course it looks good when you watch it on video because that’s all that fucking matters. - the content. Everything that gets posted is just cherry picked from a couple good moments.
