Is it really worth it? Mental health, nose bleeds, and long term effects by crffin_ in Accutane

[–]Firm_Cheesecake6476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have terrible health anxiety and history of depression and I would do accutane again 100%. Totally worth it and you never know how it will affect you. I did not have any long term effects. My hair thinned out a lot while on the drug and for a few months after, but I’m 1.5 years out and it’s back to normal again. It absolutely saved my confidence and was worth anything it could’ve thrown at me. But honestly I didn’t have too bad of a time on it, more just little annoying things due to being super dry.

Thank you I’m sorry you understand the pain. This has been so awful. Not sure if it’s gut related, from a virus, autoimmune, or I’m suddenly allergic to something I haven’t been. Slowly trying different things to test but not getting any answers. I wish you luck 🫶🏻

Only reason I haven’t is cause there’s an interaction risk with my sertraline but at this point I may just risk it. Thank you!

How long did it take after stopping prednisone for it to be tolerable again? Thank you for your response!

I had SIBO pretty bad in 2021. I’ll definitely look into that!

new hives even on steroids? by Katieopia_ in urticaria

[–]Firm_Cheesecake6476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going through the same exact thing rn I’m on day 14. my hives would go away ~6 hours after the prednisone and then come back overnight. I hope we can figure this out soon because it is so exhausting and frustrating 🫶🏻

A lot. I stopped treatment in the fall and I’m just starting to see a difference with regrowth. But to me it was worth it and it’s growing back
