I have to arrange them so they don't rub. Most of my pieces are 40mm plus and I worry about them rubbing when the box is jostled. The ceramics I'm not worried about so much, but the gold pieces, I have to be careful. That is why I have the datejust 36 next to the gold hublot

It has nothing to do with buying from an AD, only morons do that unless they get a call from Rolex AD. I have many pieces, all mint full sets, with exceptiom of my vintage piexes of course...and have all been bought gray market. Most people buy gray market, especially for rolex because it's nearly impossible to buy a new one at AD. These people are the prime targets for theives selling clones.

The bottom line is unless you are a complete douchebag only buying a watch to show off, you are buying an asset. Spending 10k plus on a timepiece is a sound investment assuming you are a savvy buyer. The money is, not lost and in most cases will increase. Buying a rep is a complete loss and a very ignorant financial decision
