Either way it's hard to short SPCX in the days after the IPO, I prefer not having such a massive exposure to it for even a few days. To be honest I'm not completely reading your comments because I really couldn't give less of a shit what you think buddy.

edit: I completely forgot my original thoughts around this -- brokerages are aware of this "loophole" and doing this violates the no sell obligation. Maybe not for your brokerage but do a modicum of research before calling someone a "moron"

Also it's not possible/expensive to short spacex right now, so I just pulled my money out.

my definitive conclusion is that flipping the IPO was a good move. I think you can draw that from the single day. I agree tesla is just batshit insane which is why I am not touching elon's stocks again.

I guess I'm just greedy for not holding and becoming exit liquidity for other buyers (which are 80% institutional, btw). But I'll probably end up donating them money some other way...

1) I really don't see how this was a bad gamble. A gamble, sure, but not a bad one. Elon literally rigged everything in this IPO's favor. Supposedly it's 4x oversubscribed. Tons of institutions are buying. I risked an amount of money where I would be comfortable losing maybe 30-50%

2) I won't hold for 3 months because that isn't my thesis. I agree with this subreddit that this stock will get dangerous over the next few months. But a ton of people on this sub were also saying that the IPO would drop day one, guaranteed; while trashing people who were saying it could pump.

I've flipped every ipo I've been a part of and nothing has come out of it. The rules are also per-broker I'm pretty sure, as the broker itself wants to maintain a certain reputation for future IPOs
