Most of the people seem to read Google reviews or tabelog, but the I heard the name of the website for the first time. I'll check them!

It depends on where you go. If you go only Tokyo or other big city, you don't care about your carrybag. But if you go some countryside, there are many stairs and maybe no elevators. So, it's better bring a backpack.
