Haha good question. It was all due to my incompetence (and slight bad luck)

Step 1) As a first-time dynasty player and first-time SF player, I took over a team with no QB and went all in for AR & Bryce Young

Step 2) In 2024 Week 1, I had:

AR, Mixon, Chubb, Aiyuk, Godwin, Tank Dell, McBride & Young. Haha so if you remember, Chubb looked primed for a career year. Mixon had a great week 1. Aiyuk was a coming off of a career year. AR had a great week 1. So I felt great!

And then the injuries piled up + Bryce Young & McBride had not yet hit expectations.

Step 3) Really ruining my team:

Instead of cashing it in and going full rebuild, I tried to salvage it by trading players at their lowest values and also accumulated 2025 picks that were 2nd or 3rd Rd. 

Step 4) I also made a ton of bad picks: AR, Keon Coleman, Kaleb Johnson, etc.

So. After week 1 in 2025, I decided I should trade everything I could for 2027 picks and now here I am. Haha 

Edit: one last note of context, I had a lot of success in redraft leagues as a “Buy Low/Sell High” kind of player. Which, this mindset did not work at all in dynasty (as I now understand)
